The Coal Tip Garden is a small personal space created in order to help us relax. Its main character is enclosure and a sense of rest. It is not a flowery garden but is formed out of shrubs and trees – forming a tapestry of hedging with arches and niches being cut out in order to place seats and sculpture and to produce a visual rhythm. A key philosophy is using native perennials.
