To give some examples of Welsh arts venues consider the Ucheldre Centre. Based in Holyhead this converted church has a gallery with ever changing arts exhibitions but also a theatre/cinema that hosts not only local / regional theatre groups but live streaming from the likes of Covent Garden. A venue that is superb for tourists but also is such a brilliant local arts venue.
Aberystwyth Arts Centre is a Welsh Arts Venue of a different ilk, designed as an arts venue it encompasses all genres or art and of course, being part of the campus of Aberystwyth University has, in addition to the local & tourism visitors, a student population giving the opportunity for often more avant-garde exhibition and productions.
Others are more conservative and traditional such as the arts galleries King Street in Carmarthen and Life Full Color in Caernarfon.
Coming from a different perspective entirely are Carmarthenshire Theatres. Operated as venues by Carmarthenshire County Council they have a slightly different objective. Whilst wanting to remain commercial with great shows and films across their three venues, this also enables them to have exhibitions and performances that are educational and niche. In addition these venues are used by schools and for teaching the arts for adult learners.
Welsh arts venues across Wales bring all arts genres to people be they local residents or tourists.
