Wrexham Library will display a quarter-scale replica of the original Wonder Quilt; the Adam Jones Quilt (courtesy of Tŷ Pawb); the Dee Valley Quilt (courtesy of Ysgol Froncysyllte), textile/quilting art from Rhosddu Primary and Barker’s Lane schools; the Drawing Board’s 50-panel patchwork.
We welcome school visits on Thursday 9 July and Friday 10 July, from 10.00am until 11.30am, during which time volunteers will be on hand to chat about the exhibits.
Thursday 9 July, 2.00pm-3.00pm: Celebrated textile artist, Bethan Hughes, will talk about the place of quilting in a modern world.
Friday 10 July, 1.00pm-4.00pm: Local artist, Rachel Harris, will talk about and demonstrate the traditional craft of Quilting in a Frame.
Saturday 11 July, 10.00am-12.00 noon: Come and help Rachel Harris and Emily Ashworth to create a Library Quilt.
Saturday 11 July, 2.00pm-3.00pm: Join local author David Ebsworth and friends to hear about the fascinating history of the Wonder Quilt itself.
