We will be showcasing our educational offers, including our one-year-long, fully funded diplomas, in partnership with NPTC Group of Colleges and Welcome to Our Woods*:

• Level 2 in Forestry and Arboriculture
• Level 2 in Nature Restoration

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Our Open Day will provide you with an insight into what BMC & Welcome to our Woods can offer you, as well as giving you the opportunity to get involved in our interactive activities.

• Find out more about all of our courses and different locations
• Meet and greet some of our fabulous, knowledgeable staff
• Wander across to our woodland teaching space, and join us on a walk-through town up to the Penyrenglyn Project building to see the horticulture plot & orchard.
• Have a go on our shave horse (weather permitting
• Refreshments available
• Find out about any of our upcoming events within the community
• Regenerative horticulture tutor, Ruth will be here showing you how to sow seeds, with the opportunity for you to have a go and take home the plant to grow on yourself. She’ll also be demonstrating how to test your own soil to figure out whether you have sandy, silty or clay soil.
• Our Tutor Ceri will be providing information on green woodworking and showing you how to make hazel flowers. Come and have a go on our shavehorse and learn how to shave and cut down wood.

SCHEDULED SESSIONS:

11am – Welcome and refreshments

11.30am – 1pm – Learn about our Diplomas in Regenerative Horticulture, Forestry and Arboriculture, Nature Restoration and Land-Based Studies. Come and take part in our workshops delivered by our Tutors.

1.00pm – 2pm – Q+A’s and Tour
