A Commitment to the Future
Firstly news from WWT, the wetland charity, the parent charity for WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre has received £548,406 to carry out a three-year wetland creation and restoration project.
The wetland charity’s only Welsh site, as well as the surrounding Tir Morfa coastline and wider Burry Inlet, will benefit from new and restored wetland habitats that will provide shelter for internationally important wintering birds and bring local people closer to nature. At the same time…
WWT Llanelli has been awarded £300,000 in funding from the Brilliant Basics Fund - funded by the Welsh Government and supported by Carmarthenshire County Council – to improve its entrance and visitor centre. With a further £100,000 contributed by WWT, the wetland charity.
The funding, alongside investment from WWT, will support the Welcome Project – a major redevelopment designed to create a more welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone who visits WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre. We’re open 363 days a year, only closing for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
