A Commitment to the Future

Firstly news from WWT, the wetland charity, the parent charity for WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre has received £548,406 to carry out a three-year wetland creation and restoration project.

At the same time…

WWT Llanelli has been awarded £300,000 in funding from the Brilliant Basics Fund - funded by the Welsh Government and supported  by Carmarthenshire County Council – to improve its entrance and visitor centre. With a further £100,000 contributed by WWT, the wetland charity. 

The funding, alongside investment from WWT, will support the Welcome Project – a major redevelopment designed to create a more welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone who visits WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre. WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre is open year-round, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the changing seasons and the diverse wildlife that thrives in the wetlands.

We’re open 363 days a year, only closing for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
