I am delighted to introduce a new collection from GRUBS, a company that I am rather fond of as I am a Lancashire lass and GRUBS is based in Bolton Lancashire, but I promise I really am professional and not biased on this review! This GRUBS range is inspired from Bromley Cross, a leafy suburb on the edge of Bolton and just a half hour from the bustling northern heart of Manchester, England. This is definitely GRUBS country and is nestled in the western reaches of the Rossendale upland, where it is surrounded by the bleak and windswept moors that inspire many of its boots and continues to shape the GRUBS brand ethos of Warm, Waterproof, Grip. This is a company ethos that really makes sense to me and is the reason I love the GRUBS brand. These Bromley boots are an insulated, waterproof Chelsea-style wellington that cleverly pairs an elegant silhouette with serious grip. Which means you will find endless uses for these brilliant boots, whether you’re a mum walking your children to primary school, heading to the bus stop or train station to get yourself to work, or like me for dog walking and tidying up around the garden. You’ll also find these boots are simply perfect for every day wear. Whilst we enjoy this ongoing hot weather there is no doubt that autumn and the winter weather will still arrive to trouble us with rain, sleet and snow. But whenever the chilly weather arrives, these boots will keep your feet dry, warm and with a grip that you can trust to cope with any damp, slush-covered pavements or muddy tracks. So if you’re looking for a boot that looks just as at home on your High Street as it does in the mud and the slushy snow, then this slim, elegant Chelsea silhouette, which is fully waterproof, is the one for you. Thankfully these beautiful boots are a world away from the bulky wellies of old that I used to wear, so now I can enjoy looking smart, but just as importantly for me I’ll have dry and lovely warm feet.
Over the years we have been lucky enough to try & test a number of GRUBS boots and every single tester has only the highest praise for the GRUBS brand, loving that their boots are practical, functional and stylish too. I cannot bear having damp feet or not feeling safe when walking in the woods when the ground conditions are poor, but this is where GRUBS always excel with their footwear brand.
These Bromley boots have the same INSUFOAM-ULTRA™, bootie as other GRUBS boots in their range, but look so good with their very pretty willow pattern lining. The boots also have the same tough DURAPRENE™ rubber upper that you’ll find in GRUBS classic boots, but this pair have a wrap around, a more elegant, tailored silhouette. GRUBS have shod them with their new, heeled PATH™ outsole, which features a 3mm tread at the ball and 5mm at the heel, with boat shoe moulded sipping, so that puddles of water are dispersed, whilst the cleats take care of any slushy snow and mud. These features are really important as they give you confidence to basically walk anywhere on various terrains but you will still feel safe. GRUBS exclusive HEXZORB™, shock-absorbing heel, makes sore backs a thing of the past and if you are doing a long dog walks all year round as I do, then this is another plus point for me and I can show-off by looking and feeling stylish!

For this season the Bromley boots are available in a classic Sage Green colourway which is such an on trend colour and one of my favourites as I think Sage looks classy and smart and this colour is available at all GRUBS retailers. The Sea and Indigo colours will be available from September 1st exclusively through Charlie Stores. But from Easter all four colours will be available on GRUBSWAREHOUSE website.
When you have some free time, please do check out the GRUBS website and see for yourself what a brilliant range they have to tempt you with or perhaps you have might have gifts to buy.

Grubs is a family business which has evolved through 9 generations of Fosters and can trace its history back to 1776 making shoes for the local community, specialising in the new sports springing up in Victorian and Edwardian Britain this was the springboard to a global brand.
Grubs introduces BROMLEY™ — an insulated, waterproof Chelsea-style wellington that pairs an elegant silhouette with serious grip. Warm, waterproof and sure-footed, it is built for the school run, the commute and everything in between, and lands this season in Sage Green.
Where a traditional wellington heads straight for the field, BROMLEY is built for everyday life. It is made for the people who need dependable protection from the British weather without dressing for it — parents on the school run, commuters crossing wet platforms, and
The all-new PATH™ outsole is where performance meets the pavement. A 3 mm tread at the ball of the foot and a deeper 5 mm at the heel provide sure footing across mud, grass and wet stone, while boat-shoe-style siping channels water away to keep you steady on slick surfaces. Inside, an exclusive HEXZORB™ shock-absorbing heel cushions every step and helps take the edge off the back soreness that long days on hard ground can bring.
Nine generations in the making
BROMLEY is the latest chapter in a remarkable family story. Grubs is a family business spanning nine generations of the Foster family, with roots reaching back to 1776, when it first made shoes for the local community. From those beginnings it has grown into a global outdoor footwear brand — but it remains, at heart, a Bolton family doing what it has always done: making boots that keep people warm, dry and sure on their feet.
The new Grubs Bromley is an insulated, waterproof Chelsea-style wellington. It combines an elegant urban silhouette with serious grip, utilizing Grubs’ signature INSUFOAM-ULTRA™ and NITROCELL™ footbed technology for all-day comfort and warmth. The boot’s name is inspired by Bromley Cross, a leafy suburb near Bolton where the Grubs brand is based.
