The Grampian are the latest addition to Chatham’s autumn collection and have been created for tough outdoor conditions. But that doesn’t mean that if you daily job is walking your dog a few times a day, these are still for you and you’ll still love these brilliant boots. My saying this is because firstly they are 100% waterproof and if you live in Wales you’ll know that we do rain, a lot of rain, rather well! Then these boots are crafted from premium leather in dark tan or dark brown and they are so comfortable and supportive to your ankles as they have a contrast padded ankle cuff. The boots feature five-eyelet lacing, stitching detail and a breathable Sympatex lining on a heavy cleated sole. They also have a new sole spring poron performance cushioning, which is anti-bacterial and offers your feet maximum comfort and shock absorption. A great rugged boot that has been designed for handling rural life with ease. If you’ve not heard of Sympatex before here’s how the company explain it: When outdoors we are exposed to the prevailing weather conditions. Functional textiles which feature the 100% waterproof Sympatex membrane provide excellent performance and make for more outdoor enjoyment. The waterproofness of the membrane is measured on the basis of the water column under the pressure of which the material starts to allow water through it. According to EN 343 a membrane is waterproof if it can resist a pressure of 1,300 mm. Pursuant to ISO 811 the Sympatex membrane far exceeds these values and is extremely waterproof with a water column of over 45,000 mm.
No-one wants wet feet, I’m sure we can all agree on that one, so to wear a boot when so much technical knowledge and thought has gone into crafting them will give you great confidence as well as comfort and dry feet too! These boots are a standard fit, but remember that leather shoes will stretch up to a half size to accommodate your foot if you are a tad worried about which size to purchase.
