Garden Centre Raises £1,505.83 for Macmillan Cancer Support

The Old Railway Line Garden Centre in Three Cocks has raised an impressive £1,505.83 for Macmillan Cancer Support through two fundraising events held in September and October.

The family-run, independent garden centre hosted its annual Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September, raising £339.83, before welcoming guests to its popular Macmillan Quiz & Curry Night on Friday 2nd October, which raised a further £1,166 through ticket and raffle sales.

The two events brought customers, friends and the local community together for plenty of food, fun and fundraising, all in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Garden Centre Founder and Quiz Master, Mark Cleary, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted with the amount we’ve raised for Macmillan this year. Both the Coffee Morning and Quiz & Curry Night were fantastic occasions, and it’s wonderful to see our customers getting behind these events and helping us raise such a brilliant total.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along, bought raffle tickets, donated and supported us.”

The Quiz & Curry Night saw teams put their general knowledge to the test while enjoying a homemade curry, with raffle tickets also sold throughout the evening to raise additional funds for Macmillan.

The fundraising forms part of The Old Railway Line’s ongoing commitment to supporting charities and organisations that make a difference to the local community.

Retail and Events Manager, Matthew Lewis, said:

“It’s fantastic to see how much support there is for our fundraising events. The Macmillan Coffee Morning and Quiz & Curry Night are always great occasions, but knowing that they’ve helped us raise more than £1,500 for such an important charity makes them even more special.

“A huge thank you goes to our team for putting the events together and, of course, to everyone who came along and supported us. We simply couldn’t achieve totals like this without our customers and local community getting behind us.”

With the autumn season now in full swing, The Old Railway Line has a range of family and festive events planned for the coming months, including its Spooky Halloween Walk, family Christmas events and a selection of festive events for adults.
