I have now discovered the wonderful world of tagine, thanks to Peugeot. After using this tagine I’d be lost without it when I have got at least 6 people gathered around our table and feeling hungry! Made in France the Atlas tagine allows you to discover the art of North African cuisine, which creates a culinary journey that is rich in flavours and tradition. This tagine comes with a 10-year product warranty, which shows confidence from Peugeot and also speaks volumes to me and gives me confidence to purchase from this brand. The Atlas Tagine stands out with its innovative design and technical features, but I have so much more to tell you about this tagine.
The base of the tagine has been designed with 100% recycled aluminium for a reduced environmental impact and unparalleled lightness. This material also allows for even heat distribution to sear and simmer your dishes to perfection. It has been cleverly created with a ceramic non-stick coating that has been made without PFAs. This means that you are guaranteed healthy, fat-free cooking and importantly for me, makes sure that taking care of it is easy. The base is compatible with all heat sources and hob types, so it adapts to the diversity of your equipment: electric, gas, ceramic (halogen or radiant), induction cooktops as well, but what made me really happy was that I could use it on my oil-fired Aga. I could even get the tagine into the bottom oven – just – to cook my chicken casserole, so that was yet another bonus. Also knowing that the tagine is oven-safe up to 2500C/4820F makes this tagine so versatile and even more so when I used the base on its own as a sauté pan/casserole pot. So you’ll not be surprised that I was delighted with the Atlas Tagine from Peugeot. I’d also suggest that when using this tagine always choose a burner size that matches the dimensions of the bottom of the Tagine.
I really did love the look of the ceramic lid which has been carefully crafted in France at Peugeot’s Breton factory. It is such a super shape that allows for even heat distribution, ideal for slow-cooking tender meats and flavourful vegetables and has been designed to enhance the flavours of the food. It is very much a unique shape which encourages the circulation of evaporated juices that rise, condense on the walls but then fall back onto the ingredients, giving you tender dishes that are really rich in flavour. The lid allows for gentle cooking to preserve nutrients. However, not only that, the tagine looks so beautiful that I’ve re-arranged my kitchen a little to find a space to leave it out – yes, OK, I’ll admit to being a show-off but it does get friends asking me about it!
I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the wonderful world of Moroccan cuisine and got so confident using this tagine that I began experimenting with many different flavours and I must admit I did impressed myself as well as my family!!!
