In the pretty little town of Pontarddulais, and next to the stream that gave the town its name, is probably the most gorgeous shop in the world. Indeed, if Carlsberg made bridal shops then Pleser would be it!
Welcoming you through the vintage facade, flanked by the most wonderfully decorated display windows, are sisters Llinos Davies and Eiriol Rees, whose mother, Marian Williams, founded the business, a bridal attire shop called Pleser, in 1989
The shop’s series of small, beautifully styled rooms are a treasure trove of wedding dresses, occasion wear, hats, shoes, jewellery, and even some lovely clothes for everyday wearing, including big names such as Jesus Peiro, Rosa Clara, Ellis Bridal, John Charles, Fely Campo, Carla Ruiz, Hundred Stars and many more.
The welcome you will receive is second to none, be that in English or Welsh, and the sisters pride themselves on offering a bilingual service to brides and their families who travel from far and wide for the personal service and the unique luxury gowns and accessories offered.
Pleser celebrate that if you come during the lighter months, you may even get a chance to visit the shop’s garden – now, not many retail premises can boast that!
The sisters’ experience, extraordinary eye for detail and an almost instinctive gift for knowing what will suit their clients, is second to none. It’s no wonder that their visitors’ book is packed with messages of grateful thanks for curating the perfect wedding clothes for countless brides and their parties from south Wales and further afield.
