To be able to make, in your own home, a coffee which is as good as one you’d pay a fairish amount for on your High Street, makes me as a huge coffee drinker very happy indeed. There just isn’t anything better. Gadgets are not really my ‘thing’ but this sleek Digital Espresso Maker from Lakeland was so super-easy to use and certainly way better than joining endless queues in my local café. If you are craving the smooth hit of espresso with your favourite ground coffee or perhaps you prefer to top off your brew with frothed milk to make the perfect foamy cappuccino, with this marvellous machine the choice of brilliant brews is all yours.
Now let me explain a little more about the reasons I am raving about this machine. It is an Espresso maker and has 20-bar pump pressure, an LED display, water/steam dial, 1-cup and 2-cup buttons, a 1.2 litre removable water tank, a steam wand, a frothing nozzle and a warming plate to heat up coffee cups and removable drip tray. The coffee portafilter holds the single and double shot espresso filters whilst the single espresso shot filter holds enough ground coffee to make one shot of espresso. The double espresso shot filter holds enough ground coffee to make two shots and there’s a coffee spoon for measuring and tamping your coffee.
I think it is the LED touchscreen controls that make me feel in control, when in fact it’s the machine that gives me the freedom to choose between one or two shots of freshly brewed espresso. Just fill your desired shot filter, single or double, with your preferred choice of delicious ground coffee, pop it into the portafilter and let the machine work its magic. But if your choice is a creamy cappuccino, milky latte or even a dreamy hot chocolate treat, the steam wand will help achieve that delicious milky frothiness that is always so tempting in your favourite coffee shops. So there is no need to miss the ultimate barista-style treatment using this machine and do remember to take advantage of the warming plate on the top of the machine to heat your mug beforehand. This machine also includes overheating and overpressure protection.
This would make a wonderful Christmas gift and people might well wish to join together to surprise the coffee lover in their family. Perhaps add some ground coffee too!
