Summer is officially over and as the nights draw in and the crowds start to leave the beautiful and iconic peaks of the Brecon Beacons, I make my annual pilgrimage to my most loved areas. For me its about the solitude and having the hills to myself. To start the day watching the sun rise over the Brecon Beacons on your own, with no one around is something quite special. With only the wind and the odd noise from birds or a near by sheep to unsettle your thoughts and near perfect moment.

Last year (2014) I based a lot of my work and time on the Central Beacons and although I still have some unfinished business there, this year will see me back in the hills on my side of the park. The Western edge of the park has for me, the most amazing ridge lines and peaks. Couple this with the iconic and legendary glacial lakes of Llyn Y Fan Fawr and Llyn Y Fan Fach, where else could be better for me to fuel my hunger for that solitude and peacefulness I crave?

The Brecon Beacons can be enjoyed in every season but for me the next few months are the finest. As you read this, I will hopefully be wandering the hills capturing more new images for your enjoyment.
