As a wholesaler and retailer, customer service and great quality products are a priority at Andrew Rees & Sons.
Set up in 1988 by Andrew as a traditional family butcher in the market town of Narberth in Pembrokeshire, the shop remains in the same location offering locally sourced, high-quality meat and produce as well as hot carvery rolls to residents and tourists alike.
As well as running a successful and busy retail shop, they also have a catering and wholesale unit at West Wales Business Park on Redstone Road, Narberth for their trade customers. At the Catering and Wholesale unit, they have industrial chilling and freezing facilities installed. In addition, the fleet of delivery vehicles which operate 6 days a week (including Bank Holidays) are all fully refrigerated, ensuring you receive your meat order in fresh and perfect condition. In 2025, refurbishment works took place at the Andrew Rees & Sons Catering & Wholesale unit where a state-of-the art butchery was installed to improve workflow and enhance food safety for customers. In addition to this, it has allowed the Andrew Rees Butchers team to further expand its wholesale offering, allowing them to serve their customers better than ever.
Andrew J Rees and Sons as can be seen been a vital part of the Narberth community for decades. This continues to this day in many ways. Being a staunch supporter of the local Narberth Food Festival, they bring together the event and local schools and their pupils. Children have the most wonderful imagination and Andrew J Rees butchers allows them to have free rein in the design of a sausage. With a prize of tickets to a local visitor attraction plus the pride of the winner’s sausage being made and initially sold at the food festival. The winning sausages have in the past been so successful that they continued to be sold seasonally in the town shop as can be seen with story of the 2024 winner: www.welshcountry.co.uk/narberth-butcher-hopes-to-create-2025-winning-sausage/
The 2025 winner was a chicken, Cenarth Cheese and leek sausage as told at www.welshcountry.co.uk/news-bites-from-welsh-country-december-25/, when Andrew J Rees Butchers was also thanked for helping the county Young Farmers with their carcase judging at their Winter Fair held at Whitland Mart.
A true local business working with local farmers sourcing locally bred and reared meat for the shop, working with the local schools and community with events and competitions.
A wonderful example of a business working within a circular local economy.
