I need to start this review by asking the question, who uses a mop and bucket? Answer someone who hasn’t as yet bought this super Shark machine!
This Shark Steam & Scrub Automatic Steam Mop is a clever piece of kit as it both scrubs and sanitises at the same time and offers up to 2 x better stain removal. It cleans and sanitises 99.9%* of household bacteria simply with the power of steam. I’m a huge fan of steam which can clean so much around the home without having to resort to using chemicals. I was amazed that you can even use this machine on all sealed hard floors, just by using the power of steam.
At the bottom of the machine there are 2 machine-washable, reusable rotating power pads that cut through any stubborn stains you might have. It glides across floors with 150 rotations per minute, lifting and removing stuck-on dirt, surface dust, grease, grime and bacteria. Although it is gentle on floors, it is very tough on stains. It is also easy for you to be able to switch between 2 automatic steam settings and move between rooms as it has an 8m long power cord.

It is a light machine and when I first switched it on I thought, take care this machine has a mind of its own, but I got in a brief panic for nothing as I quickly realised that it is quite easy for you to control the direction you need. The machine design allows you to steam clean right along the edges and often I could get under some kitchen & bathroom furniture too. With children and dogs, my floors in particular get dirty so quickly and I hated having to use a mop and a bucket, as my dog thought this was a knock-the bucket-over game! But this machine was so quick and easy and left my floors looking really clean and without leaving any smears behind.
The steam mops up quickly and has two 2 settings to cover all hard floor types. Another plus point was the floor wasn’t left wet and surprisingly brought the shine back to my rather old laminate!
This is the second product from Shark that we have tried & tested and both have done great jobs. Shark products have not disappointed me and I think this Steam & Scrub Automatic Steam Mop is a great addition to their range. This machine was so impressive that my mop and bucket are now destined for the charity shop!
