Sawtooth X Mid Waterproof from Oboz

I cannot pretend to be what would be considered a serious mountain walker, but I do walk my two dogs at least twice a day every day, whatever the weather. I’m lucky to have the choice of the beach or the woods and that does give the three of us some variety and certainly keeps us all fit. My problem has always been finding some sensible footwear and by sensible I mean, comfortable and they must also be waterproof to protect my feet in the variable Welsh weather. My other hassle is having large feet and needing a size 13 as most shoe companies run to 12 and that’s it! So I was delighted to give these boots some definite doggy work outs.

Sawtooth X Mid Waterproof from Oboz

This Sawtooth X Mid Waterproof is unlike any other shoe I have tried, it has everything that I need, starting with its mid-height for added support, which I need as I’ve a dodgy ankle. Then these have Adaptive Cushioning Technology midsole offering real comfort which uses a proprietary rubberized EVA that adapts to varying terrain. Another reason and a form hugging heel cup, which really kept my feet comfy. This unique blend of dual density, lightweight cushioning system provides the wearer with a high level of energy efficiency and a softer heel strike landing zone, as I said wonderful comfort. There’s no denying feet sweat and trails can get muddy, hence the Oboz proprietary waterproof and breathable technology, B-DRY, which lets sweat from your feet escape, but also keeps any moisture out, making these perfect for my beach walks as quite often I end up paddling as I search for lost balls. I loved that these shoes are light to wear, supportive and breathable – my feet have never been happier!

I was further impressed that these shoes are covered by a limited 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. However issues of size, or damage due to normal wear and tear, abuse or accidents are not covered by this warranty, which is fair enough. If you think you have an issue covered by the Oboz warranty, all you have to do is take shoes to the Oboz retailer where they were purchased for evaluation. It’s the most efficient method for handling a warranty claim.

I’m always interested in a companies’ ethos so I was fascinated to learn that since Oboz sold their very first pair of shoes back in 2007, they’ve planted a tree for every pair — that’s well over 3.5 million trees and counting.
