Smallholding and Countryside Festival – May
The number one event for smallholding, gardening and sustainable living.
The Festival includes classes for conventional and rare breed livestock, a Green Horizons & Sustainable Living Exhibition, a vintage machinery display, a Premier Open Dog Show with over 1000 entries, and a Folk Dance Festival.
Displays in the Floral Hall together with a wide range of garden, agricultural, food and craft stands and a full programme of family entertainment, make up the winning formula of the event. Visitors can also listen in a number of talks and participate in question and answer sessions on a variety of smallholding, horticultural, environmental and countryside issues.
This is certainly a Festival which celebrates rural life in a practical but enjoyable way, in arguably one of the most picturesque areas of Wales. The Festival is a hive of activity, offering the perfect day out for all, whatever your interest or passion.
Royal Welsh Show – July
The Royal Welsh Show has as its principal function showcasing the cream of Welsh livestock and the high quality food and drink produced in Wales. It encompasses the wider spectrum of farming and rural life and successfully bridges the gap between town and country.
It provides something to interest everyone through its kaleidoscopic range of activities including forestry, horticulture, crafts, countryside sports, Sports Village and a 12 hour programme of exciting entertainment that continues throughout each of the four days of the event.
Royal Welsh Winter Fair – November
The Winter Fair prides itself on being the best primestock event in the UK. The Royal Welsh Winter Fair has something to offer everyone. The main attraction for the event is, of course, the tremendous display of livestock, with an average of 1400 entries in both the livestock and equine competitions each year, showing off the best of British farming along with Poultry, Hounds and Farriery demonstrations. Also there are 300 tradestands and many other attractions including: Food Hall, Cookery, Produce & Handicrafts, Floral Art, Antiques, Demonstrations and Christmas Gifts
