On a Day Like Today

What could be more beautiful
Than sunlight on the shore
And a little boat out rowing
And just paddling with one ore.

What could make you happier
Than the sound of passing geese
And seeing golden plane trails
Drawing lines from west to east.

What could be more magical
Than aurora’s painted skies
And watching blue and pink turn
Red; and then green with great surprise.

What could be more magnificent
Than a heron as still as stone
And seeing a super rainbow
From far away to home.

What could be more mindful
Than hearing nothing at all
Except for leaves that crackle
And the sounds of autumn’s fall.

What could be more mystical
Than the foggy mountain’s haze
And the sunset bursts arising
From the planet’s heating days.

On a day like today…

What could be more beautiful
