The Old Railway Line Garden Centre has raised an incredible £1,028.20 for The Bracken Trust following its latest Charity Bingo Night.
The popular event, held on Friday 28th August, brought customers and the local community together for an evening of bingo, food and fundraising at the independent garden centre in Three Cocks, between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye.
The money raised will support The Bracken Trust, The Old Railway Line’s Charity of the Year for 2026. Based in Llandrindod Wells, the charity provides support to people affected by cancer across Powys, including patients, families, carers and bereaved relatives.
Joe Aldworth, Marketing Director at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to have raised £1,028.20 from the Bingo Night. These evenings are always great fun, but what makes them really special is seeing so many people come along and get behind such a brilliant local charity.
“A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, bought raffle tickets and helped make the evening such a success. We’d also like to say a very special thank you to Darren, who kindly volunteered his time to call the numbers for us on the night. He did a fantastic job as always and really helped make the evening what it was.
“We’re incredibly lucky to have such a supportive community around us and, once again, they’ve helped us raise a fantastic amount.”
The Bingo Night forms part of a wider programme of fundraising taking place throughout 2026 for The Bracken Trust.
The garden centre is also currently running its Grand Charity Raffle, with more than £5,000 worth of prizes up for grabs. The raffle has already raised over £3,500, with all proceeds supporting The Bracken Trust.

“The response to our Grand Raffle has been amazing too. To have already raised more than £3,500 through ticket sales is fantastic, and there’s still time for people to get involved.
“Supporting our local community has always been an important part of what we do at The Old Railway Line. The Bracken Trust does incredibly valuable work for people affected by cancer here in Powys, so we’re really proud to be supporting them throughout the year.”
The Bracken Trust offers information, advice, counselling, complementary therapies and practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer. Its services support individuals from diagnosis through treatment and beyond, as well as their families and carers.
The Old Railway Line’s Grand Charity Raffle remains open, with a huge selection of prizes donated by the garden centre and its suppliers. More than £3,500 has already been raised through ticket sales, with hopes that the total will continue to climb before the winning tickets are drawn.
