The National Garden Scheme has several gardens across Powys open by arrangement with the owners for private groups this year. This is a lovely way to spend some time with a group of friends, maybe from your local WI organisation, garden club or for a special family event. As well as a delightful amble around a beautiful garden, tea and cake can usually be provided too.
Bryn Teg in Newtown SY16 2DP is an amazing Caribbean garden which can cater for groups of between 6 and 20 people.
1 Church Bank, Welshpool SY21 7DR is an intimate town garden which packs a lot in to see, for groups of 5 to 30
Cuckoo Hall, Abermule SY15 6LD can welcome larger groups of between 25 to 40 people to wander round 1 ½ acres which includes a Japanese-style garden and three ponds.
For even bigger groups, the 3-acre landscaped garden at Garregllwyd, Nantmel LD6 5PE can cater for up to 99 people, as can Eve’s garden in Llansantffraid SY22 6TB which has level paths suitable for wheelchairs and can welcome coach parties.
Glan Yr Afon, Llangedwyn SY10 9LQ is a terraced one-acre cottage garden with glorious views, suitable for groups of between 5 and 20. Car parking is limited to 6 cars.
1 Glanrafon, Llanwddyn SY10 0LU is a secluded, one acre steeply sloping organic garden, perfect for picnics. Contact the owner for group size.
The Grove, Presteigne LD8 2NS is a stunning seven-acre garden with unique sculptures and over 200 trees, for groups of 10 to 45
The Malthouse, Llandrinio SY22 6SG is a 17th century walled garden and is flat so suitable for people with limited mobility and wheelchair users. It welcomes groups of between 6 and 24 visitors.
The Neuadd, Llanbedr NP8 1SP is a walled garden with rare and unusual plants, for groups of 6 to 12. You can enjoy stunning views while enjoying your tea and cake!
Plas Dinam, Llandinam SY17 5DQ welcomes groups of 15 or more including coach parties to explore its 12 acres of parkland. It has a wildflower meadow with hundreds of orchids. Only available Monday to Thursdays

Rock Mill, Abermule SY15 6NN is a magical three-acre award-winning riverside garden in a beautiful, wooded valley, catering for groups of between 10 and 30. Coaches welcome.
Tranquility Haven, Whitton LD7 1NJ is a Japanese-inspired garden with unusual bamboos, dense oriental planting and a tea house, welcoming groups of up to 30.
Tyn-Y-Graig, Bwlch y Ffridd SY16 3JB is a plant-persons garden at 300m which includes a hectare of meadow managed for biodiversity, available for groups of up to 18
Vicarage Farm, Llangynog SY10 0HG is an acre of land set in the Pennant Valley with large flower borders and a variety of fruit and vegetables and can host groups of 5 to 20 but has limited parking.
