I never thought that I’d describe a kettle as beautiful, but this jug kettle from Laura Ashley most certainly is, it is a super classic kettle. Beautifully decorated by hand and my goodness that shows, it really is stunning to look at and to ensure that it keeps its good looks it has been finished with a high-grade gloss UV coating. This China rose kettle also includes a high-quality chrome trim which complements the charmingly printed body design perfectly.
This is a lightweight, rapid-boil electric kettle and was just what I needed. I cannot bear having to wait impatiently by the kettle for it to boil, plus I was delighted that this kettle also had several safety functions such as a dry boil feature, which means that it automatically shuts down the power to the kettle if there is no water is inside. I’m positive I’m not the only person that often when rushing, forgets to fill their kettle up! There is also an overheat protection with a concealed heating element, which is important as it helps conserve energy, which of course saves you money, as well as our environment.
This 1.7 litre kettle also has a cup capacity monitor of up to 7 cups, so there is no excuse to fill the kettle to capacity, just for one cup of coffee, that again is something else I’m guilty of doing and such a waste of electricity and time. With a removable anti-scale filter, there’s also a flip-top cool touch lid to ensure you don’t burn your fingers when using it. Then there’s a tactile on/off rocker switch with a light indicator and as I’ve already said, it’s such a fast boiling kettle with a water viewing window and indicator. For the true connoisseurs the temperature gauge means you can make your drink when the water is just right, so many plus points makes this Laura Ashley jug kettle a winner for me. I loved that the sturdy handle was anti-slip and stayed cool whilst giving you plenty of holding space for your hand and yet another plus, the feet didn’t slip. It felt sturdy in use but was also easy to lift and this lovely kettle gave my kitchen a much-needed lift. I also appreciated that it has an accurate pour, so no more drips over the kitchen counter and a 3600 degree swivelling base with useful cord storage. The more I used this clever kettle it made me realise how embarrassingly ancient, slow and heavy my office kettle was, so I’ve placed on my office shopping list another jug kettle because the old office one is seriously annoying me now!
I am so surprised as a cynical journalist, to find that I am raving about a kettle, but I am. However this lovely kettle has given me an idea as we have a wedding and also an engagement party to attend later this year and I think both couples would really appreciate a gift of this classic Laura Ashley jug kettle. I’m hoping they always think of me every time they make a cup of tea or coffee! I have no doubt that I’ll hit the right note with our gift of this China rose kettle.
