Now dear readers, hands up if any of you thought, like me, that Peugeot are just a leading car brand, albeit a worldwide car brand? Well we are all very wrong on that as I have been learning lots more about Peugeot, which is a company that thrives on invention and this has taken them from their popular motor vehicles to coffee and pepper mills, salt and wet sea salt mills, nutmeg, whole chilli pepper and also flaxseed mills, as well as kitchen and some superb tableware. Their factory is located in Quingey, France but I feel just a bit silly that I wasn’t aware that there was more to the Peugeot brand than just cars. Well I’ve overcome my surprise and delighted to have been allowed to do a Tried & Tested on their coffee grinder as well as on a piece from their ceramic bakeware range.
Yet it isn’t only me that is so impressed with this company as Peugeot have been officially awarded the prestigious EPV label. This state-issued accolade pays tribute to French companies that have achieved the highest levels of traditional and industrial expertise.
But now back to the coffee mill. I love the smell of freshly ground coffee, but I found in the past the mills I’ve tried were rather clumsy to use, which is certainly not the case with this Kronos Moulin one. For more than 200 years Peugeot has been designing and manufacturing objects for our daily lives and ease of use has always been important. Their renewed engineering prowess is why this brand is the undisputed benchmark for coffee mills and all their range of mills. This Peugeot coffee mill combines style and ingenuity with a mechanism that is designed to amplify the subtle flavours and powerful aromas of coffee beans for every day, which let’s face it that is what we want and need. The mechanism comes with a lifetime guarantee.
