The Food Technologists are very experienced across all sectors of the food manufacturing industry and they can help new businesses gain the skills and confidence in food production they need to manage their own business. This includes new product development, nutrition and labeling, packaging, shelf life analysis, equipment sourcing, HACCP, process efficiency, and much more.
Food Centre Wales offers support and guidance to existing SME’s and national companies either on or off-site, to solve technical problems, develop new products and processes, HACCP, training staff, supplier approval and gaining third party accreditation’s such as SALSA or BRC, and much more.
The centre boasts a dedicated Innovation and Manufacturing Hub with unrivalled facilities available for commercial hire or to develop and trial new or existing products. Expert Food Technologists assist the use of the processing areas and equipment, whilst offering practical and technical guidance throughout.
The 7 separate Food Centre Wales processing areas are fitted to the highest standards and can be used to manufacture a wide range of products including dairy, meat, confectionery, vegetable and bakery. Storage space for chilled and frozen goods is also provided. The facilities are well suited to new and existing businesses that are looking to start commercial manufacture on a small scale.
Unique to Wales, the Food Centre Wales also boasts four individual Modular Food Production Units, which provide manufacturing facilities for start-ups ready to use, providing the ideal next step for smaller companies to take. The units are food grade ready to a high standard and can be leased up to a 5 year period.
