Cottonwood Mid Waterproof from Oboz

Regular readers will know that I am the hugest fan of Oboz. Over the years we have tried & tested a number of boots from their range – nothing has failed our thorough testing, although I must accept that we didn’t send many of them on mountain trails. But we surely gave them a good work out in our Welsh playground, including beaches, woods and the Pembrokeshire coastal path. So let me tell you about the latest pair from their new Cottonwood range which have been built for all-around versatility, whether that be on trails or around town and I’d certainly agree with that.

The Cottonwoods are Oboz’s most responsibly sourced hiking boots to date. Each Cottonwood hiking boot features numerous 100% recycled elements including the upper and lining, along with a bio-EVA midsole and a PFAS-Free DWR finish. Those ingredients earned this hiker boot the Oboz Green Standard Product stamp and I am sure they will make your time wearing them, simply a joy.

Cottonwood Mid Waterproof from Oboz

When I read through the technical information that the company supply, it becomes clear to me why I love their range and am more than happy to recommend them to friends and family. I even ended up recommending Oboz to a lady that approached me in a coffee shop as she wanted to compliment and quiz me on my boots. I do appreciate these are a considered purchase, but I can only say – buy cheap, buy twice or more! You will appreciate the comfort these boots offer when you try this brand out for yourself.

Outside + Bozeman = Oboz

Right outside our front door, the mountains of Bozeman beckon our designers. It’s our own 18-million-acre laboratory to test our designs, to inspire ideas, or just to soak it all in. It even inspired our name, Oboz. Each day we come to work, we simply do our best to live up to this gift. Here at Oboz, we are hikers first. And well, hikers second. It’s this lifelong love of the trail that enables our designers to create footwear that’s remarkably durable, comfortable and always worthy of the task at hand. Our philosophy is simple. Design the kind of footwear that we’d want to wear.

Planet

  • We love the outdoors. And the way we figure, the more trees, the more outdoors for us all to enjoy. It’s about as simple as that.
  • We plant a tree for every pair of oboz sold
  • We plant a tree for every pair of Oboz sold. It’s that simple.
  • Since our very first pair sold back in 2007, we’ve had a tree planted — that’s well over 5 million trees and counting.
  • We work with Trees for the Future to plant these trees utilizing their Forest Garden approach.

What is a Forest Garden?

Forest Gardens consist of thousands of trees that provide families with food sources, livestock feed, products to sell and, on average, a 400% increase in their annual income over four years. The specific Forest Garden project we have supported since 2020 focuses on the Tabora region of Tanzania. So, when you buy a pair of Oboz footwear, know that the tree you plant is going to a specific place.

Sometimes we team up with our valued retail partners to host One More Tree Events, where shoppers can plant a tree in the Tabora Forest Garden Project just by trying on a pair of Oboz. Contact your local dealer to see if they will be hosting an event!

You already know we plant a tree for every pair of Oboz Footwear sold. You may not have known that these trees help reduce pollution, reforest logged land, and improve the lives of farmers and families living in the developing world. Our partner Trees for the Future has had a huge impact on changing lives forever.
