A Clinique Collection

1. Clarifying Do-Over Peel

This is a really easy to use 1-step, leave-on peel that gives your skin potent exfoliation to retexturise and reveal a smoother, more radiant skin. Some peels are way too harsh and for me do more damage than good, but this one is gentle enough to leave on your skin. It is a clever peel in that it works from 3 angles, it promotes multi-level skin renewal, removes dead skin cells, helping to boost skin cell renewal and also tackles imperfections early deep in the skin surface. I really found this peel worked well for me and it is one I shall slot into my evening routine because the results I got were good.

So let me explain in more depth what this peel actually does:

  • It reveals millions of fresher cells in one swipe so your skin looks youthfully radiant and renewed.
  • It helps improve your skin’s texture so it feels softer, smoother, and more radiant and it does this by supporting your skin’s natural cell renewal process.
  • This peel also helps your skin have improved clarity as it decloggs your pores so your skin has a more visibly smoother texture.
  • To summarise your skin will appear more youthful and translucent as well as looking more radiant and luminous. You’ll find you have fewer visible fine lines, pores will appear minimized and your skin will feel soft and very smooth.

For those of you that are fascinated by the science bit, here it is:

  • 32% Micro-Acid+ Complex: A potent blend of ingredients to help boost skin’s natural luminosity to reveal a more radiant, youthful glow. o 7 Acid Blend: micro-blend of seven different AHA/BHA/PHA acids, balanced to provide gentle exfoliation. They work in sync to help remove dead skin cells that build up on the surface and dull skin’s appearance. ▪ Glycolic Acid (AHA): An alpha hydroxy acid derived from sugar cane.
  • Lactic Acid (AHA): An alpha hydroxy acid.
  • Citric Acid (AHA): An alpha hydroxy acid derived from citric fruits.
  • Tartaric Acid (AHA): An alpha hydroxy acid that occurs naturally in many fruits like grapes.
  • Pyruvic Acid (AHA): An alpha hydroxy acid.
  • Salicylic Acid (BHA): A beta hydroxy acid.
  • Lactobionic Acid (PHA): A poly hydroxy acid.
  • Algae Extract (Padina Pavonica): helps optimize skin’s natural cell renewal by promoting the emergence of fresh new cells to the surface.
  • Yeast Extract: a safe for skin, nutrient-rich ferment of plant derived mineral extract and yeast. Fermentation makes the nutrients more easily absorbed by skin and therefore more bioavailable . This ingredient works deep in the skin’s surface and helps to optimize skin’s natural cell renewal process to tackle imperfections early.
  • Witch Hazel: plant derived extract and skin purifier that helps to cleanse excess oil which can clog pores, and leaves skin with a fresh feel. Clinique uses Witch Hazel in their Clarifying Lotion Twice A Day Exfoliators, because of its purifying benefits.
  • Acetyl Glucosamine: helps to smooth skin’s texture for improved clarity and translucency.
  • Butylene Glycol: a skin buffering ingredient that helps deliver the blend to the skin.

This peel is great for those of you that have dry, combination, oily combination and oily skin types. Use at night, 2 – 3 times a week, after cleansing. Simply apply a dropper worth of liquid peel onto a cotton pad and gently sweep the Clarifying Do-Over Peel over face, avoiding eye area and lips. Follow with your serum and your night time moisturizer. It is best to use at night as this is when skin is in its optimal state of repair. Also please don’t forget to apply an SPF15 sunscreen.

If you are new to exfoliation, it might be best if you start using Clarifying Do-Over Peel only once a week until your skin adjusts.

Do not layer Clarifying Do-Over Peel with Clarifying Lotion Twice A Day Exfoliator. Clarifying Do-Over Peel should be used in place of Clarifying Lotion Twice A Day Exfoliator, on the nights that you use it.

You may experience underlying imperfections being brought to the surface, due to increased cell turnover, as a result of exfoliation, this is normal and temporary and shows it is doing its job. When applied you may also experience a mild tingling sensation, but don’t worry this is again normal and a temporary indication that the formula is working. If you experience increased discomfort when using it then just use once a week until your skin adjusts.

Clinique products that contain Retinoids/Retinol/Vitamin A can be used in the same regimen with Clarifying Do-Over Peel but if you are new to exfoliation and/or Retinoids we recommend not using in conjunction until skin has adjusted to one, then adding the other.

This peel has been Allergy Tested. It is 100% Fragrance Free, Dermatologist Tested and Non-Acnegenic.

3. Black Honey Lipstick

You may shriek when you see the colour in this tube as it looks incredibly dark and rather moody, but once on your lips it is totally gorgeous. It is sheer, glossy and lightweight on your lips. It has been created to look incredible on everyone, no matter what your skin tone is and explains why, since it was first launched in 1971 it continues to be Clinique’s Number 1 selling lipstick. I have no idea why I have not tried this before, so I’m cross as I absolutely love this.

Clinique introduced Black Honey, which is a deep, dark raisin colour, in an era when everyone had disco fever and loved bright colours and flashy fashion, but it has a huge hit and really surprised and delighted anyone who dared to try it. Black Honey appears to be a goth-like dark stain, but as soon as you slick it on your lips, it transforms into a sheer veil that makes everyone’s lips look amazing. The reason for this is because Black Honey is a perfectly calibrated blend of blue, red and yellow pigments in a creamy, balmy base, not quite a lipstick, but more than a sheer gloss, that melts into your lips and bumps up their colour. It’s truly the best version of your lips and works for every skin tone. This dear reader is a magical product Editors, celebrities, and everyone loved—and still loves!—Black Honey because it’s flattering on everyone. Trust me Black Honey is totally magical. It makes your teeth look whiter, it makes your lips look gorgeous, and it’s very forgiving, you don’t even need a mirror when you put it on. I’d be so surprised if you don’t love Black Honey as much as I do. This would be without a doubt one of my desert island products.
