An Arctic Clock

Away from Wales where Ships Still Dock…

An Arctic Clock

Ports docked and clocks watched.
And a new view from the ships watch.

Pilot boat close and tidal swell.
Pilot leaps and ship horns yell-
Goodbye. And thank you.

And a safe farewell.

Journey north to Norway bound.
Silent sea and safe sea sound.
Captain call at twelve midday.

Weather fair for sail away.

Whales alert and fountains spray.
Passengers shout- hip-hip hooray.
What indeed a happy day.

Sun stays still and sky stays bright.
No sleep tonight as far too light.

Set the clock for Northern Cape.
Another hour to stay awake.
Another hour to sit and paint.
