This is new from the GRUB’S range and it’s the DISCOVER™ walking shoes, a revolutionary lightweight fitness walking shoe that features a 100% waterproof HYDRI-FUSE™ upper and a VIBRAM® RGS Hiker™ sole. If you are not aware of GRUBS you are certainly missing out, whether you are a serious hill walker or like me, a regular dog walker. There is so much exciting technology, along with a revolutionary new concept of a shoe that is powered with a Vibram sole which gives you the ultimate footwear that you can comfortably wear all day but still look stylish. Really that is all that us walkers want and need.
I am not surprised that the DISCOVER™ from GRUBS took them a year to actually develop as it is packed with state-of-the-art features. These shoes are brilliant and there is so much that I loved about them. Firstly the Diamond Rip-Stop upper & Hydri-Fuse™ lining, which is breathable, hardwearing and cleverly wicks away moisture from your feet, plus it is fungus and rot proof, so there are no more smelly feet! The shoes are warm with a 6mm Nitrocell™ foot bed that has a million microscopic nitrogen bubbles that insulated me from any cold surfaces. They are also waterproof, which on my beach and forest walks is important to me as I hate getting my feet wet. Being such experts GRUBS have even double tested these shoes in production to ensure the shoes are waterproof all the way to the top. The shoes also boast a Vibram Speed Hike sole which has tremendous grip making the wearer confident even on steep, slippery slopes and for people like me that have taken a fall in the past, this is really important. Your feet are fully supported and incredibly comfortable and this is due to the Stability Cradle. Then the Rollingait™ technology which means that the shoe rolls with the wearers’ foot, rather than the wearer expending energy flexing the shoe and because there is less vertical compression in the heel, you’ll find that lower leg fatigue is also vastly reduced. But I’d suggest giving these shoes a brief test out so that you can get used to the Rollingait, then off you can go and you’ll find nothing will stop you but you will certainly appreciate the all-round comfort these shoes offer.
I really cannot think of anything at all that GRUBS have failed to achieve with these shoes, they are now my favourites and my feet are thanking me every day for wearing them!
