I am a huge, huge fan of Grubs, but that’s the company not the insects! Grubs are a shoe/boot maker, creating styles for both for women and men. Importantly to me is that I know I can trust this company, because as a guy with large feet, I can rely on Grubs as their men’s range often runs to a 13, which is the size I need. I’ve struggled for so many years finding shoes to fit, let alone to get the quality, stylish shoes & boots that I can get from Grubs, as in the UK, not that many companies supply beyond a 12. However it’s not just sizing that makes me love this brand it is also because of the selection they offer and of course the quality that Grubs footwear is known for.
So now onto the Tempest, a boot that Grubs have recently introduced to its range. The Tempest is a super handcrafted Iberian leather boot that also features distinctive details giving these beautiful boots a luxury touch. As these boots are equipped with Grubs legendary comfort technologies, they are not only practical, but wonderfully stylish and with size 13 feet that is very rare to find! Crafted using three-piece water-resistant full grain Iberian Leather on the upper and then double-sided with elasticated Gore on the side. That makes the Tempest the ultimate work boot, a boot that has been designed for everyday use.
So let me give you a few more details about the Tempest. It is actually an Australian style work boot that has been made from tough oil stuffed Buffalo leather and the heavy duty twin elasticated side panels allow you to easily pull on and kick off these boots too at the end of a busy day. They have a rugged styled plain toed design and are also water resistant, so it is no wonder I loved this great relaxed workwear look that the Tempest has. I’m not wearing these boots for tough, outside work but they have excelled on my daily dog walks through the sand hills and onto the beach. Plus these boots are still classy enough to wear when I am walking down to the pub for lunch, wearing just my casual clothes.
These Tempest boots are lined in a new Superdri mesh lining which wicks moisture away from the foot offering you all day comfort. I really do hate it if my boots cannot keep my feet dry, there really isn’t anything worse than having wet feet. Under foot, the boot has a super-slip resistant Command nitrile rubber outsole, which is resistant to oil, fertilisers and chemicals. I can certainly understand how guys wearing these boots for their day-jobs will really appreciate that these boots are constructed for working in rough conditions. The directly attached PU midsole adds comfort for your feet all day and as expected they are of course durable, which perhaps you might not expect to get in this classic-timeless style.
I am seriously made up with this Tempest boot from Grubs. This company never fails me and to get comfort, grip and as well as them being waterproof, all in one pair of boots is brilliant. Please do check out their website when you have time as I am sure you will be as impressed as I am.
