It has been quite some time since I first tested the Roamers walking trousers from Rohan, so when I heard they’d improved them I was surprised as I thought they were brilliant first time around! Although this pair still have the same fabulous fit and comfort the classic Roamers have always had, Rohan have made a few thoughtful changes and given the Roamers a cleaner look. Rohan say they’ve made these exceptional Roamers walking trousers even better and although the old Roamers were perfect for me, Rohan have certainly improved on my ‘perfection’ pair of Roamers.
The trousers are made with Rohan’s MultiFlex Light two way stretch fabric which makes them the most comfortable walking trousers I’ve ever tried. For me it is essential that any trousers must have stretch otherwise they are just not comfy to wear. The fabric is the same sophisticated blend of polyamide and elastane, so they are tough, stretchy and wind-resistant, but still light to wear. These Roamers have also got Dynamic Moisture Control™ so you get high-wicking breathability, which is so important when the weather is warm or your trek is a tough one, plus there is an internal elasticated waist which makes them wonderfully comfortable to wear. Yes I do love my comfort!
I cannot believe how good these Roamers look, in fact they look amazing as Rohan have now taken a further step by removing the knee seam and softening the edges of the pockets to give them a cleaner look and a more comfortable feel. The Roamers are perfect for the toughest treks, but for me you will still look good wearing them when you are out for lunch at your local pub, doing the school run or walking the dog on the beach.
Rohan have also added some thoughtful features that will enhance your comfort and keep your Roamers looking smarter for longer. They have adjusted the belt loops to fit wider belts, now that makes sense, as does the zipped security pocket hidden within the front pocket so it is easier for you to access. To keep your Roamers looking their best, Rohan have added anti-scuff tape to the hem to reduce wear and tear on tough tracks and treks. I am amazed at the super quality and another plus point is that these trousers washed well and didn’t take too long to dry, so Rohan’s wash and wear couldn’t really be any easier.
If you’re walking around Wales from spring through to autumn I doubt very much you’ll find a better pair of trousers, as I certainly haven’t! But if we get any summer and fingers crossed on that one, you’ll be delighted that these Roamers still offer UPF 40+ Sun Protection*.
