This crock pot has been designed with entertaining in mind. The internal aluminium bowl can be removed so it is very easy to prep and cook in it. Really impressed with this bowl as it features and exclusive DuraCeramic non-stick coating, faster PTFE & BPFOA free, scratch resistant, 4 x more durable and so easy to clean – another chore less!
The bowl can be used on all hobs including induction, so you can sear and sauté ingredients, allowing you to seal in those flavours. Plus it is oven safe in case you need to just give your meal a finish off. It is so important that we keep in as much flavour as possible and using this slow cooking method ensures that and from you side this makes your life so much easier. Your local butcher can help you chose cuts of meat that will be enhanced by this slow cooking method and the bonus here is that usually they are much cheaper to purchase. Slow cooking is such a healthy way of cooking as it is an excellent way to retain more vitamins, juices and minerals in your food. There is a built in 20-hour digital time and LED display giving you maximum control and helping you on your way to being a master of the crock pot.
Crock pots are also very energy efficient and that is even more important as our electricity bills are on the rise. This pot uses between 75 -150 watts of electricity on low and between 150 – 210 watts on high. Although it cooks all day the pot only uses the same amount of energy as a standard light bulb. This 5 litre size is a great capacity for 4 – 5 people I’d suggest buying perhaps a larger size than you think you might need as it does make sense to cook a batch and freeze half for another day, or for those unexpected visitors that would like feeding!
The less time I spend in the kitchen the better, which is why I recommend this crock pot so highly. I started off with a chicken casserole which was unbelievably tender and tasty and then moved onto a rice pudding, which I thought was exceptionally brave for me as it was a horrid reminder of school dinners. But I followed the recipe from Crock Pot and it was absolutely delicious and of course it was so easy to put together, needing just an occasional stir.
I think the Crock Pot would make a brilliant Christmas present, perhaps family members can join together to treat their parents……..
