Waterfront Gallery Paints a Very Welsh Picture with Welsh Food

filler

Welsh Country has been shouting about Welsh food and drink being served at events for a very long time.

We cannot see that any event that promotes Wales in any way should not be supported by using Welsh food and drink as the beverages served.

Caws Cenarth
Caws Cenarth Caerphilly – Welsh Food

Well it is with the greatest of pleasure that we congratulate Waterfront Gallery in serving Welsh cheese crackers and chutney at the recent London launch of the art competition Contemporary Wales held at the Mall Galleries in the heart of London.

This simple but incredibly tasty offering served on Welsh Slate, with menus saying what was on offer, is described by Waterfront’s Gallery and Project Administrator Julie Randell:

“There were around 140 guests and almost all the menus were picked up and taken away, so pretty good advertising for them (the companies concerned -see below).  We had very complimentary feedback for the event with many guests mentioning the cheese”

There are so many things right about this scenario.

Menus saying what was on offer great for the guests but also great for the companies involved.

Serving the food in a simple way so that the food talks for itself enabling the taste and texture of each food component to be appreciated.

Wales is one country but rarely does Welsh Art and Welsh Food and Drink complement each other again congratulations Waterfront Gallery.

We can only hope that this crossover of promoting Wales & Welsh skills becomes so common that it is no longer newsworthy. It is unlikely that we will ever be able to measure the commercial benefits to either Waterfront or the food producers, but this is no reason not to continue along this path.

PR and marketing work in some very interesting ways and it is nearly always difficult to say that any single bit of publicity produces interest or orders. What is guaranteed is that the more people talk about Welsh Art together or as well as Welsh Food and Drink the definite winner is Wales plc.
