Shampoo from Percy & Reed

Session Styling Volumising Dry Shampoo

I am a huge fan of this brand. I think that any range devised and created by hairdressers is always the best place to start. But my enthusiasm for the Percy & Reed brand is also because all the products I have tried from them work, well actually not only work, but work really, really well and this dry shampoo is no exception! It has a new look, but apparently I’m told it is the same great formula, which I understand. There is no point altering a formula when it works so well and in my view, this works perfectly. I am sure I am not alone when I think back to dry shampoos of the past which were always a disaster, but to be honest I must say I was still a little wary, which was actually quite stupid of me to fret about the Percy & Reed’s dry shampoo as this is a multi-tasking dry shampoo that weightlessly refreshes and revives hair in between washes. So trust me if you’ve used dry shampoos before and they haven’t worked for you, I’d say try the best, try this one for sure. Its high-grade ingredients absorb oil, eliminate any odours and boost your hair root giving you volume and the result is a full, fresh finish for your hair. This dry shampoo is suitable for all hair types and colours as the ultra-fine cornflour powder works to clean your hair as it absorbs any oils, but most importantly for me is that it doesn’t leave any white, chalky residue, which many of you will know that you find in other brands. This one also has a root boosting formula that will build volume in your hair, add texture to rejuvenate your style and leave your hair looking cleansed and full. Another plus point for me with this dry shampoo is that it has a bespoke fine fragrance that will leave your locks smelling beautifully fresh and odour-free. Infused with one of Percy & Reed’s signature scents, A Walk in The Rain, which is a crisp, green fragrance that evokes the scent of a garden that has been freshly misted by rain. It has mint and rhubarb top notes over a geranium, ivy and hyacinth heart, finished with musk, verbena and woody base notes. It is gorgeous and no-one will know you have got such beautiful hair by using a dry shampoo. All my family and friends were fooled!

To use, shake the can really well until you hear the aggravator moving inside the can, then push down hard for the first couple of sprays. Then just spray evenly into your roots area holding the aerosol about 10cm away. Then massage into your roots with your fingers to distribute evenly and this will help absorb any excess oil. Or another way to give you even more control, spray directly onto your brush and work through your hair from roots to ends. I found the brush way worked best for me, so quick and easy and brilliant results.

I am not surprised this is dry shampoo is an Award Winner and don’t forget it is gluten & paraben free, all in recyclable packaging. Plus it is also silicone & sulphate free and vegan friendly. I don’t need anything else.

‘I’m No Flake’ Scalp Soothing Shampoo

If you have a dry, itchy scalp then this is one you must try as this one is the best I have ever tried. This has been dermatologically tested and is an anti-dandruff shampoo that has been laboratory proven to reduce flakes and itchiness for a healthier scalp. As you’d expect, salon expertise meets science to create this caring shampoo, which works to soothe away signs of scalp stress, relieving irritation and dryness. Expert ingredients help to purify your scalp, clearing and preventing dandruff, whilst balancing oil levels for fresh, clean, flake-free results.

It’s soothing with a delicate blend of calming ingredients, including aloe vera and chamomile, to calm any irritation and deliver vital moisture to dry, itchy scalps. This shampoo contains a preventative innovative ingredient, Dandrilys, which helps to eliminate dandruff, regulate sebum secretion and normalise cell renewal, for a balanced, flake-free scalp. Soothing, anti-inflammatory Piroctone Olamine, helps to keep your scalp clean, preventing flakes and reducing itchiness. If your scalp is sensitive then this gentle formula will work for you and is still suitable for everyday use if required. You’ll find this shampoo is perfume free and infused with a blend of calming essential oils, including bergamot, geranium and petitgrain.

To use, first remove the foil seal. Then apply to your wet hair and massage with your fingers to create a rich lather. Rinse well then repeat. Follow with the conditioner of your choice. Use daily at first to cleanse your scalp and then use at regular intervals as required.

Really Rather Relaxing Soothing Scalp Massager

If you are feeling that your scalp needs a little more TLC then this is the best scalp tool I have found. It’s a gentle scalp massage brush that is perfect for soothing away scalp stress, or for an enhanced hair washing experience. This tool has an ergonomic design to fit easily into the palm of your hand and is so comfortable to use.

Environmentally friendly, the brush is made from fully recyclable materials, with biodegradable, non-toxic bristles. Use the brush to massage in your shampoo and conditioner for a deep, indulgent cleanse. Or, use on your dry hair to re-energise the scalp, soothing away stress and tension.

The soft bristles work to massage the scalp, helping to exfoliate, cleanse, relax muscles and stimulate blood flow to create a healthy hair environment. Use the massager to take your in-shower haircare experience to the next level by massaging in your shampoo and conditioner using the brush for a deep, indulgent cleanse. Or perhaps take some ‘me time’ and use the massager on dry hair to soothe away stress and tension and re-energise your scalp. I do hope you love this tool as much as I did!
