Ovenware Roaster from Le Creuset

This roaster is from the Ovenware Collection of Le Creuset and it is a roaster that will cover you from Sunday lunches to midweek suppers. You’ll be able to create all sorts of delicious meals with this hardworking rectangular roaster that has a hard anodised body that you’ll find is tough and creates excellent heat conduction and distribution, so this roaster will not let you down. It has a toughened non-stick coating that releases food effortlessly, no longer will you be trying to scrape food off your tin and wasting food and no doubt your temper in that process! It is safe to use your metal utensils with your roaster and you’ll be pleased to find that it is strong, durable and is warp-resistant. Now being warp-resistant is important to me as I have too many cheap tins that are wonky and very much out of shape. It is also dishwasher safe but so far I have found it so easy to clean, because nothing sticks to the roaster and that is just what I need.

This Ovenware Collection is nestable which is a bonus if storage is sparse in your kitchen. I also found this pan was easy to grip thanks to its secure-grip handles that have been specifically designed to ensure you get safe and easy lifting. This lovely roaster is ready for the heat whether that is in the oven or under the grill and this ovenware is heat resistant up to 260°C.

Of course I shouldn’t be amazed that I’m so impressed with this ovenware roaster as Le Creuset products are crafted from the finest materials in facilities around the world, ensuring the quality you would expect from Le Creuset. Plus it comes with a lifetime guarantee and if that doesn’t say that the company has confidence in its range, I don’t know what will. I am delighted with this roaster and know how much more use it will get over the festive period, but it has proved to me that old adage – buy cheap, buy twice. Well over the years I’ve bought cheaper versions of roasting/baking tins and not just twice, so this range is such a winner for me I’ll be buying more from this range in the future.

For the best results, lightly grease the inside of the tin before each use. As regards cleaning wait for your product to cool down before you start cleaning it. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or metal, harsh abrasive or very stiff cleaning pads or brushes on any of the surfaces. Dry well after washing and store in a dry place. Or you can always pop it in the dishwasher for no fuss cleaning.

OUR HERITAGE

First. Finest. Favourite.

As the first in colourful cookware, the finest measure for quality and design, and the favourite for generations, Le Creuset is an enduring symbol of culinary character.

Meet the founders:

A cast iron partnership

In 1925, two Belgian industrialists met at the Brussels Fair — one, a specialist in enamelling; the other, an expert in casting.  Jointly they ‘cracked the code’ to enamelling cast iron and brought colour to the kitchen.

Together, Le Creuset’s founders ushered in a new era of cookware.

After their first meeting, Armand Desaegher and Octave Aubecq agreed to collaborate, and together they defined the basic production process of the enamelled cast iron cocotte that we still use today. Once they created a working prototype in 1925, Le Creuset was born.

The pair went on to establish a foundry in the village of Fresnoy-le-Grand, about two hours north of Paris. Our factory site stands at a transportation crossroads, making it easier to source the iron, coke and sand needed for production. To this day, our iconic cast iron cookware is still made in the original foundry in France.

Inspired by the fiery orange colour of molten cast iron inside the foundry moulds, Desaegher and Aubecq’s first enamel colour — Volcanic — has become our signature hue.

Streamlined for the jet age

Raymond Loewy has been referred to by many names, not least ‘the Man Who Shaped America’, ‘the Father of Streamlining’ and ‘the Father of Industrial Design’. But few people know about his connection to our iconic cookware. The official designer of our 1958 Coquelle, Loewy restyled the traditional Le Creuset round casserole to appeal to post-war tastes for minimalist design.

Generations of flavour

Today’s cookware is tomorrow’s heirloom.
