Empowering communities: Exciting revival of Horticulture Wales Project
We are thrilled to announce that our horticultural project is back and ready to make a positive impact with renewed vigour. We are excited to confirm that we have been granted funding from UKSPF, funded by the UK government, to cover the counties of Flintshire and Denbighshire. This funding allows us to shift our focus to a more concentrated area, enabling us to have a more significant and meaningful influence on the communities we serve.
Our previous pan-Wales project paved the way for our continued success, and now, with the backing of Flintshire and Denbighshire councils, we are set to achieve even greater heights. The Northop campus will be abuzz with activity as we embark on this revitalised journey, with this being our base for the continued project. Our hydroponic equipment is receiving an upgrade, and we are placing an increased emphasis on well-being and the transfer of horticultural knowledge within the communities.
The core of our mission is to create a positive impact within the communities we serve. Our objectives for this project encompass a range of meaningful initiatives. We aim to establish two new clusters, not limited to Flintshire and Denbighshire, but open for anyone passionate about horticulture to join. We believe that collaboration and knowledge sharing can foster remarkable growth.
Promoting social inclusion is a core value of our project. We are committed to creating an environment where diversity is celebrated, and all community groups can actively participate. By sharing traditional growing methods, we hope to preserve these valuable techniques while fostering a deeper connection between people and the natural world.
Another significant focus is on improving nutritional awareness. We believe that everyone should have access to healthy choices. Through education and practical initiatives, we aim to enhance understanding of the importance of good nutrition.
Education is at the forefront of our efforts. We plan to engage with local schools, educating children in horticulture and highlighting its numerous benefits. Through this, we hope to sow the seeds of sustainable practices in the minds of our future generations.
