1. Black Honey Lipstick from Clinique
This Clinique classic lipstick has not only gone viral by taking social media by storm, but this meant the lipstick went out of stock – shock horror! But fear not, this magical lipstick is back in stock, on the shelves or online for you to purchase. Forgive the pun, but I’d say stock up just in case it goes viral again and disappears once more. Although it is some time since we initially reviewed black honey, it is certainly worth doing again!
Looking at the colour initially I though it a little scary as its colour is a deep plum and certainly not a shade I’d chose myself. But I applied it, gingerly at first I must confess, but I’d no need to worry because as soon as you swipe it across your lips, it magically transforms into a sheer veil giving your lips a soft-shine finish. It makes everyone’s lips look amazing, whatever their natural lip colour is. So this ‘suits-all shade’ is loved by so many as they love its transparent pigment which glides on as a sheer, glossy slip of lightweight colour that amplifies your natural lip colour. The emollient-rich formula gives lips a sleek, moist finish and looked totally amazing purely because it’s a sheer, natural but subtle colour and you really don’t need a mirror to apply.
There is no doubt that Clinique has created a classic with Black Honey. I cannot really describe it as lipstick but it isn’t quite a gloss either. I do hope there’s no confusion on this because it has a texture more like a balm but with a soft-shine finish that you can simply layer with. It will look slightly different on everyone who wears it and it works easily wearing it alone or over or under any other lip colour.
