The Welsh landscape provides a wide array of treasures, from delicious foodie delicacies to gleaming raw materials that have brought industry, employment and a constant stream of visitors to Wales.
Two men that know about this on a personal level are Welsh farmer Gareth Wyn Jones and Ben Roberts, Managing Director of Welsh jewellery brand Clogau, which has its own North Wales gold mine.
The Welsh mountains have always provided inspiration for artisans and craftspeople to produce the most impressive products. In order to showcase the very best Cymru has to offer, Gareth and Ben are combining their efforts at this year’s Welsh Game Fair in Bangor on 9th – 10th September, to provide visitors with the gift of the Welsh mountains.
Gareth always ensures his farm’s produce is of the highest quality. Diners at this year’s Welsh Game Fair will be able to taste the rolling hills, dramatic coastline and warm hospitality of the Welsh people as he heads up The Restaurant at this year’s event. The Restaurant will feature a menu that utilises locally sourced produce from Gareth’s farm.
Clogau will be ensuring there’s plenty to do across the weekend for the whole family too – especially for any budding young gold miners! Clogau will be running an activity where kids can don their hardhats and headlamps and pan for their own treasure, which they can then use to make custom bracelets and necklaces to take home. There will also be a free Clogau goodie bag on offer to make the day extra special.
Visitors can take in exhibits explaining the fascinating history of the Clogau St David’s gold mine and Clogau Gold of Wales Ltd, not to mention the storied history between Clogau gold and the British Royal Family. But if any visitors fancy treating themself, they can drop by Clogau’s retail display where they can take in a range of Clogau’s beautiful jewellery which they can purchase for home delivery.
