Cancer Support Group ‘With a Difference’ Starts Up in Cardigan

  • Cancer support group with a difference holds its first meet up in Cardigan this weekend.
  • 5K Your Way Move Against Cancer encourages anyone affected by Cancer to join in with their local Park Run
  • Regular meet ups will take place on the last Saturday of the month alongside Teifi Marshes Park Run

Exercise is one of the most important things anyone diagnosed with cancer can do to enhance well-being and improve their health outcomes both during and after treatment – but for many people it can be hard to know where to start. On Saturday 25th January 2025, Teifi Marshes 5K Your Way, Move Against Cancer will meet at 8.45 a.m. The aim of the group is to encourage and support anyone affected by cancer in any way, to come and be part of the Teifi Marshes Park Run. This could mean walking, jogging or running all or just a part of the 5km or simply turning up to cheer other Park Runners on!

Sophie Gasson, 5K Your Way Ambassador said:

“We’re really excited to be setting up a 5K Your Way Move Against Cancer group alongside Teifi Marshes Park Run. People affected by cancer can get a huge amount out of taking part in exercise at any level – or simply being in company with a supportive and non-judgmental group. We hope that anyone who wants to will come along – whether they’re starting their fitness journey, wanting to stay active or getting back into exercise after cancer, or just wanting some support.”

The 5K Your Way Ambassadors will be at the Teifi Marshes Park Run on the last Saturday of every month, ready to welcome and support anyone who wants. People wanting to take part can register on the 5K Your Way registration page and then just come along. The Ambassadors will be visible in turquoise T shirts & Hoodies!

Anyone wanting to know more can contact the group using the email address teifimarshesgroup@5kyourway.org or through the Teifi Marshes 5K Your Way Move Against Cancer Facebook page.
