Wishbone is one of the many online casino developers in the industry who have, in recent times, made their mark by releasing popular online slot games. Wishbone is one of the very few development studios in the iGaming space that were founded in Cardiff, Wales. They have been releasing online slot games to the casino industry for over three years, encompassing a range of themes and game mechanics. Some of the most popular slot releases in their portfolio are part of the Kingfisher series, though they are also credited with numerous other notable releases. Wishbone has added interesting bonus mechanics and detailed visuals to every release in their portfolio, which has helped them gain a respected reputation in their short time.
Hermes Bonanza
Hermes Bonanza is an interesting online slots game developed and released by Wishbone, debuting in 2023. This slot game is set in an ancient Greek theme, one of the most popular genres in the industry, and features distinct visuals. In this title, the theme is well displayed, showcasing Greek imagery throughout the view, with gameplay inspired by the Greek god Hermes. The Hermes Bonanza slot game will take place across a 5×3 playgrid, which contains a fixed payline count of 10, which is around the standard across the industry.
The gameplay in the Hermes Bonanza slot is set in the skies, which is a relatively common element for other ancient Greek-themed slots in the industry. Against the backdrop of Hermes Bonanza, a dark purple skyline can be seen, with small, shining stars adding to the aesthetic. To showcase the game’s theme, Wishbone has added white marble pillars to either side of the grid, which are topped by golden bowls. As showcased in the backdrop, the playgrid contains a dark purple backdrop, with a golden frame bordering and separating each reel.
Wishbone has added some interesting bonus features to the gameplay of Hermes Bonanza, including the Hermes symbol, which works as both the wild and the collect. The developers have also added a free spins feature to the Hermes Bonanza slot, which can be triggered by landing 3 or more scatters.
Kingfisher
The Kingfisher series is one of the most popular slot series in Wishbone’s games portfolio, and this title is the one that started it all for the Welsh developers. For this slot game, Wishbone has added a fishing theme to Kingfisher’s gameplay, which is showcased through tranquil visuals. Gameplay-wise, Wishbone has showcased its creative capability in Kingfisher, implementing numerous bonuses which can be triggered at random. There is a 5-reel, 3-row playgrid in the Kingfisher slot, which contains a fixed payline count of 20.
As found in many other fishing-themed slots in the industry, the Welsh-based developers have placed the gameplay on a tranquil lake. Wishbone has placed the Kingfisher slot at sunset, with the golden sun illuminating the entire view, creating a picturesque skyline. Frequently during gameplay, the lake ripples on either side of the grid, enhancing the aesthetic.
The gameplay of Kingfisher is enhanced by the addition of bonus mechanics, which may be triggered at random during play. The main bonus here is the free spins feature, which can be triggered by activating one of the coloured eggs above the reels, with each containing a unique modifier.
Splash of Gold
Another popular slot in Wishbone’s game portfolio is Splash of Gold, which was released to the online casino industry in 2025. Featuring some Irish-themed imagery throughout the view, including in the symbols and the overall design, the Splash of Gold title is well-created. This slot game is one of the many releases in their portfolio that contain jackpots, which can be found above each of the reels here, except for the middle one. The developers have also added other interesting mechanics to the gameplay that can be triggered across the 5×3 grid, which contains 20 paylines.
Wishbone has somewhat deviated from genre standards with the design of Splash of Gold, placing the gameplay in a cave rather than in many that showcase green fields. With that said, Wishbone has scattered golden coins beneath the grid in this release, which help showcase the game’s theme. Whilst not contributing to the Irish genre, Wishbone has designed the backdrop well, adding rugged cave walls to either side of the view and a blue highlight towards the back of the view. To the left of the playgrid in Splash of Gold, Wishbone has added a cheerful leprechaun beside a pot of golden coins, showcasing the Irish theme excellently.
To complement the base gameplay, Wishbone has added some fun bonuses to Splash of Gold, which, if triggered, will provide additional gaming experiences. The main feature in Splash of Gold is the respins bonus, which can be triggered if 6 coins land on the reels in the same spin, triggering the hold-and-win-style feature.
