Old Hall – Old Building
Seated Wellness Gong Bath sessions. These sessions will be free to attend with limited spaces, so make sure you head over in time for the half hour sessions from 9am until 11am. These sessions will be hosted by Ashley of Dancing Tree Sound. An opportunity to relax the body and quiet the mind.
At 11.30 – 12.15pm The Tir Glas staff members Carwyn Graves and Barny Haughton will host a Q&A session on the future of sustainable food and farming with an update on the Tir Glas developments. Come along and share in the discussions.
Following on from this from 1.00pm – 16.00pm University staff from the Anthropology and Archaeology and the Harmonious Entrepreneurship departments are hosting The ‘Food Pirates’ session, charting a course for Sustainable Food Innovation and stirring up recipes for change. Lots of fun for the whole family.
Cloisters Old Building
Come and experience the new UWTSD Minecraft game from 1:00 in the Cloisters. The Inspire team will be calling all young minds! If you have a passion for construction, architecture, the built environment, or any other field that sparks your curiosity, this is your golden ticket! The team invite you to experience the magic of learning while having an absolute blast in the virtual realm.
The interactive model not only entertains but also educates. Discover the secrets of sustainable practices, innovation, research, and enterprise, all while you build and construct your very own dreams.
The Quad
The Academy of Sinology students will delight you with a range of activities which include calligraphy, traditional Chinese food, music and more.
University Library
From 12.30 – 16.00 – Gwerth Gŵlan / The Worth of Wool (with a personal presentation by Post graduate Deborah Mercer at 14:00)
In addition the Library staff have prepared a Feast for the eyes by showcasing the Feast from Nature exhibition from the Special Collections This will be available to visitors from 12:30 to 16:00
Raffle
The Festival has a special raffle this year with some wonderful prizes. The first prize is a £500 voucher to spend at Bluestone. The Falcondale Hotel have kindly donated Sunday Lunch for two as have the Wynnstay Hotel in Machynlleth. The Harbourmaster Hotel at Aberaeron have also kindly donated a raffl prize of £80 to spend at the HM in any way that you choose. Nathan Davies of SY23 will be donating a signed copy of his first book ‘On Fire’, and our local Chef Gareth Richard is donating a hamper full of Cegin Gareth produce (to include jams and relishes)
We will also be selling reusable cotton bags so you can carry all your purchases from the Festival, and keep as a reminder of your visit.
