Wales Coast Path
Spanning 870 miles, this footpath follows along the entire coastline of Wales, which makes it the first dedicated footpath that follows an entire country’s coastline. It’s highly improbable you’ll want to trek the entire 870 mile path, but there are certain key things to check out.
As a coastline path, it travels through 58 beaches, 14 harbours, and the smallest city in the UK, St. Davids. It also runs through the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, which is home to some spectacular wildlife.
The Wales Coast Path is split into 7 sections, which are:

- Isle of Anglesey,
- Menai, Llŷn & Meirionnydd
- Ceredigion
- Pembrokeshire
- Carmarthenshire
- Gower & Swansea Bay
- South Wales Coast & Severn Estuary

Snowdonia
This famous mountainous region in northwestern Wales offers such breathtaking scenic beauty, many films have been shot on location to provide gorgeous backdrop. Such films include The Legend of Tarzan, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Clash of the Titans, Highlander, and many more epics.
There are 14 glorious mountain peaks, each more than 3,000 feet in height. The most famous is the 3,546 foot Snowdon, which is accessible by train. The British Bird of Prey Centre
Located within the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Carmarthenshire, you’ll find this wonderful sanctuary for native birds of prey, including hawks, falcons, kites, buzzards, and eagles. Two flying displays are ran every day, with nightly owl shows as well.
For £10, you can handle the birds and let them fly and land from your gloved hand, for 30 minutes, and this can be booked on arrival. There are also private bookings available, which allow you to fly up to 4 different species for 2 and ½ hours.
Cardiff Castle
Fans of medieval history will surely enjoy a trip to Cardiff Castle, which hosts over 2,000 years of Welsh history. Its origins as a Roman fort in 55 – 400 AD, up through a 19th century Gothic transformation, this epic castle has truly stood the test of time.
Visitors will be able to explore all the mysteries that Cardiff Castle has to offer, including a massive series of underground tunnels, which were used as air-raid shelters during World War 2. On the weekends, you can take the Great Clock Tower tour, which winds up 101 spiral steps.
The castle also hosts a museum, souvenir shop, as well as special events such as banquet feasts and live jousting and melee combat, the most famous being the Grand Medieval Melee which runs in August.
Wales by Rail
