As a Welsh site, we are always keeping up to date with the Welsh people and what we enjoy and recently we have been noticing that a lot of the people who use our site aren’t actually Welsh. We found this to be quite an interesting fact and one that we realized we could use for some good page ideas.
Using statistics and our own personal hobbies, we are going to talk you through the biggest jobbies that you may find interesting and take for yourself.
The Hiking Craze
One of the biggest known facts about Wales is that it is a hiking hotspot. According to a 2019 study, 76% of people between the ages of 16 – 44 participated in long outdoor walks at least every 4 weeks. These are high numbers and looking at the landscape of Wales as a whole, it is not hard to see why we love hiking so much.
With locations like Snowdonia for people who are interested in the natural beauty of Wales and the Llandudno Pier for people who want to look at the beauty of the architecture in Wales, Hiking can give you both and be fun too.
Gaming’s Growth
Speaking of the Llandudno pier, this has been one of the biggest attractions as you come off the pier is the arcades which are known attractions for the tourists and one that the locals themselves still enjoy.
However, the arcades are not the biggest form of gaming Wales has to offer, with casinos being a huge grower over the last decade. When we look at a comparison site like FruitySlots.com, we can see why casinos and betting as a whole have grown a lot. As FruitySlots are an affiliate site, it enables them to help players find the best casinos for their requirements. You can find out more about the team at FruitySlots.com and see for yourself why they are so committed to helping players find these casinos; they have a lot of experience and want to help players have the most enjoyable experience possible.
The casinos and the arcades are massively popular with 63% of people over the age of 18 betting on at least one thing in the last 12 months. This proves the sheer amount of people who consider the idea of betting as a popular hobby.
The Water Sports
The Welsh community has had an affinity for water sports for a long time now, with over 6% of adults participating in these outdoor activities. Kayaking and Sailing are the biggest water sports in Wales and have been growing yearly, with only 5% of adults participating in 2022.
Although a small growth, it’s still a growth nonetheless and we expect more and more people to become involved in these water sports over the next decade.
Seeing The Sites
When you talk to us Welsh, you will see how proud we are to be Welsh and this is reflected in our hobbies too. With a place as beautifu l as ours, it’s easy to understand why we love going to see the sights that are planted around us.
There are a load of historical landmarks and castles that we all love seeing and talking about. If you want a taste of what makes Wales so special. Seeing castles such as Conwy Castle and Caernarfon Castle are two hugely popular places that we think every person should see.
The Well-Known Beaches
Similar to the castles and the landmarks, the beaches are iconic in Wales and show off what makes us so popular. People from all around the UK come to Wales when the weather is nice and this is the same for the Welsh people.
As soon as one bit of sun hits Wales, the beaches are full and the water sports come out. The perfect Wales day is filled with hobbies, a walk around the sites, going to the beach, seeing the Llandudno pier and ending with some arcade games and some money won.
