A member of the Belgian Royal Family, Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant, will be moving to Wales in September 2018 to study at Atlantic College in St Donat’s, Vale of Glamorgan.
The eldest child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, Princess Elisabeth currently lives at the Royal Palace of Laeken with her parents and three siblings: Gabriel, Emmanuel, and Eleonore.
While the fate of Princess Elisabeth is yet to unravel once she has set foot in the institution, her current academic performance and community involvement show a lot of promise for the future queen of Belgium. Similarly to other royals throughout Europe, the princess and her family may even resort to tarot readings to seek guidance for the future and help with present decisions. The tarot originated in Europe and has been around since the 14th century. Through the centuries, members of the royal family like Princess Diana of Wales, who has been known to seek the guidance of her trusted psychic, Sally Morgan, have turned to the tarot in addition to other methods.
At present, the 16-year-old princess is attending a Dutch-speaking school located in Brussels. She also speaks French and English and is studying German. Princess Elisabeth loves to cook as well as play various sports, such as tennis, skiing, scuba diving. Her volunteer work includes helping children who have learning difficulties, senior individuals, homeless people, and the disabled.
Admission to the Atlantic College requires students to pass rigorous exams. The majority of students accepted into the college have to be nominated by their respective country’s National Committee. For Princess Elisabeth, she had to pass the tests organised by the Belgian Committee in order to be admitted to the said college.
Being accepted in a prestigious institution well-recognised for its quality of education and values is an honour for any student. And with the princess’ impressive academic records and humanitarian involvements, it is no surprise that she was accepted at Atlantic College.
