This is a glossy, opaque black mascara from a company which is new to me, but so pleased to have been introduced as they have a superb range. Do check out their website, especially if you are also new to this exciting brand.
Le Rouge Français offers the only expertise of its kind in the world that gives you the first alternative to chemical, non-renewable pigments: plant based colour. Its vegetal colour is extracted from indigo and sorghum and the exceptional care formula is suitable for people who have sensitive eyes. Le Rouge Français stands out as a global pioneer in the use of plant pigments to colour its makeup products. They draw from a rich library of hundreds of dye plants, selected for their unique colouring qualities and biological benefits, including madder, sorghum, indigo, Corsican chestnut, and Damask rose. These plants are harvested in their endemic environment, in order to preserve the biodiversity and local economy of the regions where they are cultivated. Pigment Indigo is the seventh colour of the rainbow and has an extraordinary and unexpected colour palette. Deep in the Indus Valley, blue textiles dyed with indigotin have emerged from the city of Mohenjo-Daro, while in Central America, indirubin red can be seen on Mayan frescoes and statues. In Africa, women use it to dye their skin and hair a deep black. Indigo also has incredible biological properties.
Made in France, this mascara is organic and vegan and so many people are wanting products that tick those two boxes. This mascara contains Roman Camomile floral water which is soothing, Jojoba and castor oil which you’ll find nourishes your lashes and also a plant-based Carnauba Wax that will help lift your lashes.
Now it is great having a marvellous mascara but it is also important to apply correctly. Just place the brush at the root of your lashes and use a zigzag motion as this will help you get hold of every eye lash so you will get lash by lash definition. Then just repeat until you have obtained the desired volume you require. Use the curved edge of the brush to work the outer and inner corners of the lashes to intensify the look and open up the eyes and that is it. I bet you will find like me that your eyelashes have never looked so good.
Le Rouge Français is certified by the international ECOCERT label, so all the materials used must be 100% recyclable or biodegradable.

Why do other brands use petrochemical colour?
99% of the industry extensively uses synthetic colours derived from petrochemistry – petroleum derivatives – or at best from minerals, which are non-renewable resources. They are very economical, easy to manufacture and reproduce. If we use plant pigments, it is to guarantee absolute harmlessness, to protect your skin and your health.
99% of the colour in beauty is chemical. We made it vegetal, so no petrochemical and no titanium dioxide.
All our products are formulated with oils, butters, waxes, and other ingredients from organic farming, containing natural actives. They help to hydrate and protect your skin daily. We also incorporate other natural active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, which restores volume and tone, as well as probiotics that maintain skin balance
How do your formulas protect sensitive eyes?
Our organic formulas are designed without allergens, synthetic fragrances, or essential oils, ensuring optimal protection for sensitive eyes while providing excellent pigmentation and hold.
