Secure Grip Knife Set 4-Piece
Knives for the kitchen are an obvious must-have but they certainly vary in quality and price. So I am delighted to have found this knife set from Kuhn Rikon. It really is a superb knife set that includes a serrated paring knife, a utility knife, a bread knife and a chef’s knife, 4 knives that you will find so useful in your kitchen whatever task you are doing. Whether you are chopping, slicing, peeling, bread cutting, these 4 knives have safety grip handles with Kuhn Rikon’s SecureGrip, giving you increased control and reassurance as no-one wants a knife that is difficult or uncomfortable to hold. These sharp knives all come with a safety sheath giving you safe and hygienic storage. There’s a soft-touch angled bolster which is tapered for maximum control, an optimal hand positioning and a large stopper at the butt, to prevent the knife from slipping. With rounded tips, these knives are innovative and safer to use as they have large-angled points and rounded heels to prevent any accidental injury.

I am sure you will love using this set as much as I have. This set is also a great gift idea if you have engagement or wedding gifts to buy or you have a teenager heading off to University.

Now it is not only good knives you need in the kitchen, but brilliant pans too and the ALLROUND range from Kuhn Rikon is without doubt one to look at. So that gives me great confidence and that is even before I start cooking!
So this is a durable stainless steel frying pan that has a tough 3 layer non-stick coating to ensure you get perfect low-fat frying. It’s a practical and a rather a good looking frying pan which will take you from a breakfast fry up, making omelettes and then moving onto cooking steaks, fish, halloumi or vegetables. So this is just what you need, a pan that gives you scope to cook many foods.

Made from 18/10 stainless steel this provides a durable, easy to clean pan. Its hard-wearing 3 layer non-stick is toughened with titanium particles and ensures this pan is easy to use and easy to clean, so I really don’t think you need anything else from a pan. It has a thick, encapsulated base that absorbs and spreads heat so you get all round, even cooking throughout the pan. But what really did amaze me was that this pan, which has a riveted handle and a hanging loop, actually stayed cool on the hob, so no more burnt fingers! This frying pan is suitable for all hobs, including induction. As proof of this pan’s versatility you can even use it in the oven up to 240°. It is also suitable for the dishwasher but I actually found it easy and quick to wash by hand.
Kuhn Rikon are the Swiss cookware experts which is why I am such a huge fan of the company. Also their website has plenty of ideas for gifting, so don’t forget to visit it.

ALLROUND Shallow Casserole Non-Stick 3.0 L/24cm (Boxed)
Kuhn Rikon, the Swiss cookware experts have another pan, which once more I loved using. It was the 24cm casserole which I found to be such a multipurpose non-stick, shallow stainless steel pan to use. I used it as a shallow casserole for braising, then tried it as a deep frying pan, finally cooking a lovely risotto and played with making a few pasta dishes. I loved the versatility of being able to use this pan on the hob or in the oven. This is a great looking pan, practical and a durable 18/10 stainless steel shallow casserole with the 3 layer non-stick is toughened with titanium particles. The thick, encapsulated base also stores and spreads heat efficiently and there’s also an Allround rolled pouring lip which is so handy. This pan is oven safe up to 240°C and is suitable for all hobs, including induction.
This pan, which is part of the Allround cookware range is so easy to use, quick to clean and as I say, it looks great too. Efficient to use as the fully encapsulated, impact bonded induction base ensures fast, even heating.

The comfortable stainless steel loop handles are riveted to the pot and so they stay cool when used on the hob, providing of course that flames are not licking up the sides. The glass lid has a convenient steam hole so that you can see what is happening inside the pot so you have no need to lose any heat by lifting the lid to check your cooking. Now doesn’t that make sense?
But just in case, like me, you are not aware of what is 18/10 stainless steel, this is what I have found out. When investing in stainless steel cookware you want 18/10 stainless steel as it is more durable and will retain its good looks. 18/10 stainless steel includes 18% chromium and 10% nickel. The chrome provides hardness and rust resistance. The nickel is very resistant to rust, corrosion and stains, so it adds to the durability of the pot and provides the enduring shine. Stainless steel that is just 18/0 may be a lower price, but it will of course be less resistant to rust and will not retain a polished finish. This super pan is also dishwasher safe but I found it easy to wash by hand.
UK purchases are covered for defects in materials and workmanship.
