A meeting in public of Powys Teaching Health Board will take place on Thursday 10 October to consider the next steps following the recent programme of engagement on proposals for temporary changes to some health services in Powys.
The proposals relate to the overnight closure of the Minor Injury Units (MIUs) in Brecon and Llandrindod Wells as well as changes to the clinical model of care for some of the health board’s inpatient beds.
Board members will be asked to consider the recommendation to implement these proposals on a temporary basis.
The engagement period took place from Monday 29 July to Sunday 8 September, during which the health board directly heard from more than 800 stakeholders including residents, patients, politicians, staff, partner organisations, GPs and Llais (the national Citizen Voice Body for health and care in Wales). In addition to this the health board has engaged with thousands of interested individuals and organisations through webinars, public meetings, public petitions and visits to its engagement hub.
Papers for the board meeting, along with details for joining the online meeting, can be found on the health board’s website at pthb.nhs.wales/news/health-board-news/next-steps-on-proposals-for-temporary-changes
