Guides, Rangers and volunteers from Girlguiding Cymru and the Falkland Islands took part in the Royal Welsh Show 2024. Over 60 dedicated girls and volunteers from across Wales, including a remarkable contingent of girls from the Falkland Islands, contributed to the show’s success.
Girlguiding Cymru deputy chief Sarah-Jane Burns said:
“Our members ensured the show ran smoothly by volunteering in various roles, from managing the buggy park and bag drop, to assisting with livestock judging and providing essential visitor information.”
Highlights of the week included media appearances, visits from dignitaries, and opportunities for girls to discuss the positive impact of Girlguiding on their lives. The girls were also able to connect with other young people from across Wales and The Falkland Islands, fostering friendships and broadening their horizons.
Sarah-Jane added:
“We extend our sincere gratitude to all volunteers and organisers, particularly Bev and her team from Girlguiding Ceredigion and the Girlguiding Cymru core RWAS team, whose unwavering support made this experience possible.
