Fingers and Forks Wedding and Corporate Event Taster Experience
Caterers Fingers and Forks are showcasing their work during the Festive Season at the Philips Hall in Abbey-Cwm-Hir. The village, steeped in history and natural beauty, boasts a village hall to match the unique character of the valley. Their remit is to compliment Christmas at The Hall, the fifty-two room property in the village that opens its doors to the public for most of the year, is transformed for Christmas with all fifty-two rooms decorated with a different theme. Beverages and snacks are available in the garden room but due to high demand the hot and cold carvery Christmas lunches are served at the Philips Hall, enabling visitors to enjoy a more extended Abbey-Cwm-Hir experience. A variety of menus are available with dishes being prepared at their premises nearby, using the regional Welsh produce for which they are noted, by in-house trained staff. Cakes and desserts can be ordered by those looking for something special for the festivities.
As part of their 2013 programme Fingers and Forks are staging wedding, party and corporate taster days on the 13th and 14th of January 2013. With new dishes being developed over the Christmas holidays it will enable clients new and old to try the new dishes alongside traditional favourite, new themes for canapé, view place settings, venue dressing and flowers. For those wishing to place their special event with them a meeting can arranged to make further suggestions, help with finding a venue, music, flowers, drinks receptions and favours. Most Sundays during the Spring lunches will be served at the hall, a two course carvery including a selection of home made desserts, Welsh cheese board – Perl Wen, Perl Las, Gorwydd Caerphilly, Snowdonia and Teifi with nettles, coffee and fudge from Fiona’s Fudge is available at £15 per head, senior citizen concession available. After lunch anyone wishing to, can see a mock up of their table setting plus tasters from their own bespoke menu by arrangement. That is, until afternoon tea is served, cucumber sandwiches – miniature hot savouries including Welsh rarebit – home made cakes, meringues with fresh cream, scones with the latest offerings from Radnor Preserves, bara brith accompanied by tea/coffee or chocolate from Welsh Brew Tea and their local Traidcraft supplier. All served of course in bone china, vintage cups and saucers.
Monday 14th January will focus on corporate events and catering. Fingers and Forks work with many venues including the Royal Welsh Showground to provide a fantastic corporate event experience. Providing assistance with venues, a vast selection of menu options featuring some of the finest foods from the principality and how to present them, whether it be full service, hot or cold buffets or vintage teas the team will be on hand to answer all of your questions.
Details will also be available on the rest of their Spring programme – cooking demonstrations on desserts, canapé and cocktail bites, simple suppers and vegetarian dishes. Tips and step by step instructions for those who love food, with tasting sessions after. Also children’s baking classes – making and decorating cup and cookies as gifts for Mothers Day. A beer and bangers night in conjunction with Brecon Brewing.
Fingers and Forks: New Year, New Venture!
From January 1st, established outside caterers Fingers and Forks business, will be providing the catering service at the country house hotel – Greenway Manor, Crossgates, Llandrindod Wells. Starting New Years Day with a buffet luncheon, they will be providing the range of menus and service, using local/Welsh producers, for which they are noted.
Afternoon teas and tea dances, day packages will also be available for those wishing to make a day of it and include a tour of The Hall at Abbey-Cwm-HIr with brunch on arrival if desired, in addition to their exceptional range of lunches.
At dinner there will be a choice of formal and informal menus which as per their present service are available on a bespoke basis, the informal will take the form of a hot and cold buffet so that guests can see and try dishes before committing to their choice.
Fingers and Forks will be offering monthly cooking demonstrations of their most popular dishes and home made desserts, talks on local crafts, and in the spring a wedding and special event fayre.
