Elasticizer
In case you haven’t heard about, let alone used the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer then I am letting you into my secret. Well that’s not totally true as anyone who mentions my hair is looking good I tell them ‘my secret’. Even my hairdresser asked me what products I was using as my hair was feeling good to her too! Elasticizer is a world-famous and multi-award-winning, taking the Best Hair Product in QVC’s Beauty Excellence Awards for three years running and Vogue’s 100 Beauty Hall of Fame to name just two successes. It is an elasticity-boosting pre-shampoo hair mask and is clinically proven to reduce breakage after one use. Elasticizer adds elasticity to strands that will give your hair much needed stretch and therefore strength which your hair needs to work against everyday stresses like brushing, heat and styling. So that means that your hair is instantly healthier, with much more shine and without those annoying tangles. This deep-conditioning treatment seeks to restore elasticity to your hair making it easier to manage and my goodness that is what it achieves. The company has introduced various fragrances on its elasticizer range so you can simply cherry pick your favourites, my fav at the moment is Bluebell Woods, it is a beautiful fragrance.
Philip Kingsley was known throughout the world as the tricologist problem solver and this Elasticizer Deep-Conditioning Treatment is an essential part of every Philip Kingsley Clinical Treatment regime. This unique product delivers a rush of moisture inside the hair cuticle and is especially beneficial for extremely damaged hair. Visible results from one application will build with continued use.
This is such a super moisturising intensive treatment that cleverly adds silkiness, suppleness, elasticity, bounce and strength, many claims but they are true. It is an exceptional product range. You’ll see that the clever ingredient combination continues to provide UV protection even after washing – helping prolong the life of colour treatments.
Before shampooing, thoroughly wet hair and apply in sections. Work into hair with fingertips. Cover with a shower cap and leave for at least 20 minutes, if possible over 60 minutes. Rinse well and follow with the appropriate Philip Kingsley shampoo, conditioner and scalp toner. Finer hair textures should double-shampoo to remove all product. For best results use at least once a week. I’ve also tried leaving it in overnight to give my hair an advanced treatment and actually slept in a towelling turban on top of my plastic cap. Not a great look, but certainly very effective. I’ve also tried this method when doing housework or cooking. If you enjoy the gym apply Elasticizer before your session then shampoo out after your work-out. You can even sit by the pool on holiday in a towel turban whilst your Elasticizer works its magic.
Initially I hasn’t happy with my hair texture or my DIY blow dry and this product has made such a big difference and I realised and it is a proven fact, that the longer you use it, the better the results for your hair. Strength and elasticity improve use after use, as demonstrated in Philip Kingsley’s Independent User Trials*. An impressive 92% said hair felt deeply moisturised and 80% agreed hair felt more elastic after four weeks weekly use. But the difference is instant too – 88% said hair felt silkier and moisturised, while 87% said tresses looked shinier after just one use.
I try and check out Philip Kingsley on QVC when I’m running low on product as they have such brilliant collections, but I cannot be without this product. I have tried not using for a week or so, but my hair always goes backwards in feel and texture and this is coming from a cynical journalist!
First formulated in 1974, it remains Philip Kingsley’s bestselling treatment today — with one sold every minute. So if you haven’t given this a try, please do and if you have a family member or girlfriend’s birthday in the offing this will make a great gift and I am positive they will love your introduction to this miracle product.

Elasticizer Booster Restoring Conditioner
This booster is a new product to me but I loved it as I found it to be the perfect partner for my favourite Elasticizer product. This Elasticizer Booster Restoring Conditioner from Philip Kingsley is one to restore the shine on your hair and really is the boost you can use after using the Elasticizer deep-conditioning treatment. This intensive formula works to prolong the hydrating and nourishing results, now who wouldn’t want that?
This is a high-performance in-shower formula that offers versatility to dryer hair types and can be used as a hair mask or conditioner. The booster leaves hair feeling silky soft and smooth, with enhanced flexibility and bounce.
Apply your normal conditioner over mid-lengths and ends of cleansed hair. Then just smooth the booster over the top, paying particular attention to the driest and most damaged areas of your hair. Then rinse thoroughly. The booster can also be used all over instead of your normal conditioner and left on for up to 10 minutes as a flash mask.
So no surprise that this is another Philip Kingsley product I have added to my regime, I love it when I find a brand I can trust – and my hair does too!
