Garden Centre’s Christmas Advert Brings Festive Cheer with Thousands of Views in First Days

The Old Railway Line Garden Centre is celebrating the overwhelming response to its enchanting Christmas advert, released last week, attracting thousands of views on YouTube and Facebook in its first few days. Known for its festive tradition of Christmas videos, the garden centre’s latest creation invites audiences into a world of festive wonder, featuring a storyline that celebrates kindness, community, and the joy of giving.

This year’s advert is inspired by The Magic of a Christmas Gift, a newly released charity children’s book written by team member Matt Lewis. The video, much like the book, centres around the theme of spreading festive cheer through small acts of kindness. Created with beautiful, heartfelt visuals, the advert aims to capture the true meaning of Christmas, resonating with viewers of all ages and inspiring them to embrace the spirit of giving this holiday season.

“The response has been incredible,” said Matthew Lewis, author of The Magic of a Christmas Gift and team member at Old Railway Line Garden Centre.

“Each year, we put lots of time and effort into these Christmas videos, and we’re thrilled to see our community engaging with this story. We hope it continues to spread joy and a little magic throughout the season. I’m particularly proud of the results as we create, plan, record and edit the video ourselves with no help externally. It’s also great fun working with ‘the cast’, made up of some of the youngest members of the Old Railway Line family.”

In the first few days of its release, the advert has already attracted thousands of views, as families, customers, and community members share the video across social media. The garden centre is grateful for the outpouring of positive comments and engagement and hopes that this heartfelt story will add a touch of festive magic to viewers’ lives this Christmas.

The story featured in the advert aligns with the launch of The Magic of a Christmas Gift, which is available at the garden centre and online, with all profits donated to two important charitable causes:

Be More Frank: A fund created under the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, supporting families affected by childhood cancer across Herefordshire, Powys, and surrounding areas, in memory of Frank, a young boy who bravely faced a rare bone cancer.

Ewing’s Sarcoma Research Trust: Partnering with the Bone Cancer Research Trust, this fund honours Eif’s legacy by supporting research, raising awareness, and aiding families affected by primary bone cancer.

By pairing its much-loved Christmas video with the book launch, the Old Railway Line Garden Centre hopes to spread an uplifting message of hope and generosity this festive season. Whether viewers are watching the advert or reading the story in The Magic of a Christmas Gift, every engagement brings joy to the community and contributes to the centre’s mission of making a positive difference.
