Ty Gwyn Cider Open Their New Cider House

Ty Gwyn Cider were delighted and excited to be able to throw open the doors of their new cider house, bar and shop this Summer to rave reviews and hundreds of visitors. They purchased a derelict farm near Pontrilas in December 2014 and immediately began a wholesale programme of renovation to incorporate a purpose built or in this case purpose renovated cider shop and bar and cider shed. M.D. Alex Culpin said:

“We were looking for somewhere that combined a great feel and suitability with a place that cider lovers would really relish coming to”. With a licensed bar and a sun deck on the premises, they can now give cider fans the choice of enjoying a glass or two whilst gazing on the fermenting vats (thanks to a clever window from cider shop to cider shed) or taking cider away with them to enjoy at home or elsewhere.”

Alex continues:

“The business is growing at quite a rate and although there is ample room on site for expansion we are going to have to be clever with our layout. By next Summer we hope to be able to offer visitors the chance to stay with us and enjoy tutored tastings and talks on cider making.”

The shop is open Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Please phone 01981 241 181 for further details. Ty Gwyn Cider, Pen Y Lan Farm, Pontrilas HR2 0DL.
