Immortelle Youth Hand Cream from L’Occitane
Nowadays I rarely get excited about a hand cream but I most certainly am about this one! It’s from one of my favourite and trusted brands, L’Occitane. I’d heard a little about this cream and was intrigued to see what all the fuss was about. I must confess that their Shea Butter Hand Cream has always been my go-to cream because it is very rich and nourishing and although I’ve been lucky enough to try many, many other hand creams, I always return to their shea butter one – well, until now.
L’Occitane have created the Immortelle Youth Hand Cream, YHC, to combat signs of ageing. They have formulated an innovative serum-in-cream formula, which is a fusion of the nourishing benefits of shea butter, with the age-defying technology of the Immortelle flower – that is the flower that never actually dies. The serum-in-cream technology encourages rapid penetration of immortelle essential oil, increasing the density and firmness of the skin. It contains a cocktail of powerful ingredients and this light serum absorbs quickly and dries without a greasy, or sticky film. Your hands are left fragrantly scented with the floral scent of immortelle, alongside deliciously fruity notes of apple and peach.

I loved that the YHC includes 5% of my favourite shea butter, which is sourced from 100% Fair Trade* partnerships in Burkina Faso, as shea butter helps to diminish the visible signs of ageing. I’d give a gold star to whoever at L’Occitane named this Youth Cream, as the name fits this serum so well!
I wonder, if like me you often take a sneaky glance at other ladies’ hands because you are so aware of how much we put our hands through so our hands often do show our age. I used the YHC throughout the day just as and when I felt my hands needed some pampering or when they’d been in water so much and I took particular care to pay attention to my knuckles and any dry areas. I also took the YHC to bed with me to treat my hands with one final application.
L’Occitane have created YHC with the environment in mind, as the hand cream boasts 97% natural origin ingredients and the tube is 95% recycled aluminium. So this is not only good for your hands it is good for the planet as well.
So now you’ll understand why I’m now hooked on the YHC and it’s already on my Christmas Wish List and I’d love a super- size. Well done L’Occitane, you’ve got another winner on your hands – apologies for the poor pun!

Immortelle Divine Cream from L’Occitane
10 Year Anniversary Limited Edition
I’m sure all beauty addicts will have heard and tried products that contain retinol and also heard stories of people that have reacted badly to retinol. Well, Immortelle, the everlasting super flower, has now been found by L’Occitane to contain a natural derived retinol alternative which really is gentle on your skin. The company spent years and years working to find a natural alternative to retinol which led them to the discovery of Immortelle Super Extract – this is massive in the beauty world.
If you don’t know about the Immortelle flower from Corsica, let me tell you about this amazing flower. This strong and resilient plant grows in extremely harsh conditions in the Corsican Maquis, there it is swept by salty winds from the Mediterranean Sea and drenched in intense sunlight. Called by the name of Immortelle because this flower doesn’t wither, even after being picked. If that isn’t genius I don’t know what is! For L’Occitane after 19 years of research, this flower reveals powerful anti-ageing secrets! Continued innovation and new extraction methods have allowed the company to obtain new botanical extracts which up until now have stayed undiscovered by cosmetic scientists – until now.
The L’Occitane labs having discovered such an alternative, they have tested it side by side with Retinol. Just like Retinol, at the dermis level, the Immortelle Super Extract stimulates collagen synthesis, whilst at the dermis level it boosts cell proliferation, resulting in skin renewal and a thicker epidermis.
Actually perhaps all you’re concerned about is the cream itself which has a cashmere-like texture that harnesses the power of 600 Immortelle flowers and their exceptional everlasting longevity Inside is a cream of the finest quality, free of mineral oils and enriched with sustainably sourced, fully traceable immortelle essential oil, which delivers its anti-aging and antioxidant benefits for younger-looking, younger-feeling skin.
So you apply morning and evening on clean and dry face, neck and neckline. Then after 2 months your skin volume will look sculpted, moisturised and firmer whilst fine lines and wrinkles are less visible.
